Erik Johan Bergenskjöld (1785 – 1865) Minister of Justice pt 1819, regular 1824 Province Governer in Örebro 1835 – 1856 He retired and died at Höjens Estate in Kräcklinge parish where he was born. The family of Bergenskjöld had dealings with our family through three generations. - Erik Bergenskjöld, Sr., Mine Inspector - Erik Bergenskjöld, Jr., Mine Inspector. His brother, - Carl Bergenskjöld, District Judge and his son - Erik Johan Bergenskjöld, Province Governor. E.J. Bergenskjöld owned ½ mantal in Skeppsta. It was probably his widow, selling real estate and moving her roomers, which forced our family to emigrate. She had influence over the Skeppsta tenants Örebro Castle, home of the Province Governor 122
