Stich & Bitch
Stich & Bitch
Opera performance / Sweden, USA
..................................................................................................................................................................
Stich & Bitch is five female opera singers from around Sweden
and the United States. The production with the same name was
created together with Carina Reich and Bogdan Szyber during
a few sweaty weeks and was first shown in March this year at
the Operafestival at Folkoperan in Stockholm. The ambition
is to answer a few of life’s most important questions: How to
unify polyurethane and Puccini? Can you fit both recycling and
reclaiming into your life? How is it determined which art is good
or bad? Experience how the five plastic babes of Stich & Bitch
turns the concept of trash culture into mincemeat!
TRANSIT
Stefanie Sixt & Markus Mehr
Opera – Music / Germany
i “Transit”.
analoga verktyg.
..................................................................................................................................................................
The artist’s interpretation of the diverse levels of physical death
and the question of spiritual life after death is manifested in
“Transit“. The visuals are most of the times based on animated
photographs of light reflections. Unreal rooms are created and
open up room for the viewers’ interpretation, depending on
her or his status of experience and knowledge. The musical
composition is based on a repetetive layering of two musical
motives, reminding of mantras. The main part is dominated
by the resplendence, peace and the harmonic moment of the
piece. Introduction, center and conclusion on the other side are
consisting of slowly built up sound conglomerates – disharmonic,
restless and monotone. The sounds are created by guitar, iPhone,
laptop and analog effect devices.
ALLOTMENT
LEIBNIZ
Performance / Germany, United Kingdom
..................................................................................................................................................................
ALLOTMENT is conceived as a meditation on the theme
of ‘death and resurrection’, presented as a series of simple
actions and images, which – while obliquely referring to natural
phenomena and the flora and fauna of a humble garden – focus
on the performer’s body as expressive medium. ALLOTMENT
explores ‘the lot’ of humanity, while taking a sideways look at
‘failure’ and ‘suffering’ as creative processes.
ANY SLIGHT MARK
ANY SLIGHT MARK
Sound performance art work / Italy, Sweden
ANY SLIGHT
“body”.
..................................................................................................................................................................
We swallow small microphones connected to headphones. You
are invited to listen to the insides of our bodies. ANY SLIGHT
MARK is an attempt to expand perception and the notion of
touch through the creation of two linked sound pieces, one
focusing on the human body and the other one on space. At Stoff
we are performing the first part, “body”.
