Vid Torne älvs mynning på Sveriges östligaste punkt
ligger Cape East hotell och restaurang. Vintertid ligger
landskapet inbäddat i vit snö och under kalla kvällar visar
sig norrskenet med sina alla skiftningar. Sommartid lyser
solen dygnet runt och ger ljus och näring till både människor
och natur.
De senaste fyra åren har Cape East genomgått omfattande upprustning
och restaurering och kan idag erbjuda boende i trivsamma
dubbelrum, konferensrum i olika storlekar och en generös
lounge med öppen spis för lugna stunder med trivsamt sällskap.
Vid hotellet fi nns en gammal Tornedalsgård som renoverats
med varsam hand och anpassats för restaurangverksamhet. Här
får man uppleva smaksensationer av olika slag. När andan faller
på fi nns ett brett utbud av aktiviteter. Varför inte gå en runda på
Haparanda – Tornio golfbana, den enda golfbana i världen där
man kan spela i två olika länder med två olika tidszoner under en
och samma golfrunda.
I JUNI 2010 invigs världens största bastu med spa på Cape East.
Bygget som går under namnet Midnight Ice är en anläggning för
avkoppling och njutning. En gigantisk bastu likt ett Mayatempel
med tolv lavar, en skybar, hetpooler, isbad och spa-behandlingar
är bara en del av det som erbjuds. Fem meter höga panoramafönster
och de många glaspartierna släpper in ljuset under sommaren
och vintertid förhöjs stämningen med hjälp av olika ljuseff ekter.
Utomhus byggs dessutom en femton meter lång pool.

At the mouth of the Torne River on the most eastern point
of Sweden lies Cape East hotel and restaurant. In winter
the landscape is inbedded in white snow and on cold evenings
the Northern Light is visible with all its shots. In summer
the sun shines day and night and gives nourishment to
both human beings and nature.
During the last four years Cape East has been extensively repaired
and redecorated, and can today ofer accommodation in cosy
double-rooms, conference rooms of diff erent sizes and a generous
lounge with an open fi replace for calm moments in nice company.
At the hotel thers is an old Torne river farmhouse, which hs
been carefully renovated and adjusted for restaurant purposes.

When you feel for it there is a broad off er of act ivities. Why not
go for a tour on the Haparanda-Tornio golf course, the only golf
course in the world where you can play golf in two diff erent countries
during the same golf round.
IN JUNE 2010 the world’s largest sauna with spa will be inaugurated.
Th e building, under the name Midnight Ice, is an establishment
for relaxation and enjoyment. A gigantic sauna, like a Maya
temple, with twelve benches, a sky bar, hot pools, ice bathing and
spa treatments are just a part of what is off ered. Five-metre high
panorama windows and the many glass parts let in the light in
summer, and in winter the atmosphere is hightened with the help
of diff erent light eff ect s. Out-of-doors a fi fteen-metre long pool
is being built.
