Karen A. Jehn is Pr<strong>of</strong>essor <strong>of</strong> Social <strong>and</strong> Organizational <strong>Psychology</strong> at<br />

Leiden University, the Netherl<strong>and</strong>s. Her research focuses on intragroup<br />

<strong>conflict</strong>, group composition <strong>and</strong> performance, <strong>and</strong> lying in organizations.<br />

Pr<strong>of</strong>essor Jehn has authored numerous scholarly publications in these<br />

areas, including articles in Academy <strong>of</strong> Management Journal, Administrative<br />

Science Quarterly, Journal <strong>of</strong> Personality <strong>and</strong> Social <strong>Psychology</strong>, International<br />

Journal <strong>of</strong> Conflict Management, Research in Organization Behavior, Journal <strong>of</strong><br />

Business Ethics, Business Ethics Quarterly, <strong>and</strong> Group Decision <strong>and</strong> Negotiation.<br />

She has served on the editorial boards <strong>of</strong> Administrative Science Quarterly,<br />

<strong>The</strong> Academy <strong>of</strong> Management Review, Journal <strong>of</strong> Organizational Behavior,<br />

<strong>and</strong> International Journal <strong>of</strong> Conflict Management where she was an associate<br />

editor. She was also an associate director <strong>of</strong> the Solomon Asch Center for<br />

the Study <strong>of</strong> Ethnopolitical Conflict, the Research Director <strong>of</strong> the Alfred<br />

P. Sloan Foundation’s Diversity Research Network, <strong>and</strong> the Chair <strong>of</strong> the<br />

Conflict Management Division <strong>of</strong> the Academy <strong>of</strong> Management.<br />

Deborah M. Kolb is the Deloitte Ellen Gabriel Pr<strong>of</strong>essor for Women <strong>and</strong><br />

Leadership at Simmons School <strong>of</strong> Management. From 1991 to 1994, she<br />

was Executive Director <strong>of</strong> the Program on Negotiation at Harvard Law<br />

School <strong>and</strong> is currently co-director <strong>of</strong> <strong>The</strong> Negotiations in the Workplace<br />

Project. Her current research focuses on gender issues in negotiation <strong>and</strong><br />

leadership. Her book <strong>The</strong> Shadow Negotiation was named a best business<br />

book by Harvard Business Review <strong>and</strong> received the Best Book Award from<br />

the International Association <strong>of</strong> Conflict Management in 2001. Pr<strong>of</strong>essor<br />

Kolb is the co-author <strong>of</strong> Everyday Negotiation: Navigating the Hidden Agendas<br />

<strong>of</strong> Bargaining <strong>and</strong> Her Place at the Table: A Woman’s Guide to Negotiating<br />

Five Challenges to Leadership Success. Her other books include <strong>The</strong> Mediators,<br />

Hidden Conflict in Organizations: Uncovering Behind-the-Scenes Disputes,<br />

Making Talk Work, <strong>and</strong> Negotiation Eclectics.<br />

Laurie Metcalf is Assistant Pr<strong>of</strong>essor at the University <strong>of</strong> Arkansas at<br />

Little Rock <strong>and</strong> a Ph.D. c<strong>and</strong>idate at Texas A&M University. Her research<br />

focuses on <strong>conflict</strong> in a variety <strong>of</strong> contexts, including interpersonal deception<br />

in <strong>conflict</strong>, alternative views <strong>of</strong> mediation, <strong>and</strong> a framing approach to<br />

collegiate living-wage movements.<br />

Andreas Mojzisch is Assistant Pr<strong>of</strong>essor in the Economic <strong>and</strong> Social<br />

<strong>Psychology</strong> Unit at Georg-August-University Goettingen. He received<br />

his Ph.D. at Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich. His main research<br />

interest is group decision making. He has focused on biased information<br />

pooling <strong>and</strong> biased information evaluation during group discussion,<br />

the effect <strong>of</strong> prediscussion dissent on confirmatory information<br />

search after group discussion, <strong>and</strong> the effect <strong>of</strong> social validation on the<br />

greater decisional impact <strong>of</strong> shared compared with unshared information.<br />

He has published in <strong>The</strong> Academy <strong>of</strong> Management Review, Journal
