Management. Dr. Cropanzano was a winner <strong>of</strong> the 2000 Outst<strong>and</strong>ing<br />

Paper Award from the Consulting <strong>Psychology</strong> Journal. He is currently editor<br />

<strong>of</strong> the Journal <strong>of</strong> Management, a fellow in the Society for Industrial/Organizational<br />

<strong>Psychology</strong>, <strong>and</strong> Representative-at-Large for the Organizational<br />

Behavior Division <strong>of</strong> the Academy <strong>of</strong> Management.<br />

Carsten K. W. De Dreu is Pr<strong>of</strong>essor <strong>and</strong> Chair <strong>of</strong> the Organizational <strong>Psychology</strong><br />

Program at the University <strong>of</strong> Amsterdam, the Netherl<strong>and</strong>s. He<br />

was president <strong>of</strong> the International Association for Conflict Management<br />

<strong>and</strong> is scientific director <strong>of</strong> the Kurt Lewin Graduate School for Social <strong>and</strong><br />

Organizational <strong>Psychology</strong>. His research interests center on group processes<br />

<strong>and</strong> performance (including <strong>conflict</strong> <strong>and</strong> negotiation, <strong>and</strong> creativity<br />

<strong>and</strong> innovation). His research, which has been published in the major<br />

journals in psychology <strong>and</strong> organizational behavior, relies on a mixture<br />

<strong>of</strong> laboratory experiments, organizational field studies, <strong>and</strong> meta-analytic<br />

reviews. He has edited several books, including Using Conflict in Organizations<br />

(with Evert van de Vliert, 1997), Group Consensus <strong>and</strong> Minority Influence<br />

(with Nanne de Vries, 2001), <strong>and</strong> Methods <strong>of</strong> Negotiation Research (with<br />

Peter J. Carnevale, 2006).<br />

Ray Friedman is the Brownlee O. Currey Pr<strong>of</strong>essor <strong>of</strong> Management at<br />

the Owen Graduate School <strong>of</strong> Management, V<strong>and</strong>erbilt University. His<br />

research focuses on <strong>conflict</strong> management, justice, <strong>and</strong> negotiation, with<br />

a special focus on labor negotiations, race (black–white perceptions <strong>of</strong><br />

justice), <strong>and</strong> culture (U.S.–Chinese differences in dispute resolution). He<br />

has published one book, Front Stage, Backstage: <strong>The</strong> Dramatic Structure <strong>of</strong><br />

Labor Negotiations, <strong>and</strong> numerous articles in journals such as Academy <strong>of</strong><br />

Management Journal, Administrative Science Quarterly, Journal <strong>of</strong> Applied <strong>Psychology</strong>,<br />

Organization Science, Journal <strong>of</strong> International Business Studies, <strong>and</strong><br />

Human Resource Management. Pr<strong>of</strong>essor Friedman is past chair <strong>of</strong> the Conflict<br />

Management Division <strong>of</strong> the Academy <strong>of</strong> Management, <strong>and</strong> President<br />

<strong>of</strong> the International Association for Conflict Management.<br />

Michele J. Gelf<strong>and</strong> is Pr<strong>of</strong>essor in the Department <strong>of</strong> <strong>Psychology</strong> at the<br />

University <strong>of</strong> Maryl<strong>and</strong>, College Park. Her research explores cultural influences<br />

on <strong>conflict</strong>, negotiation, justice, <strong>and</strong> revenge; workplace diversity<br />

<strong>and</strong> discrimination; <strong>and</strong> theory <strong>and</strong> methods in cross-cultural psychology.<br />

Her work has been published in such outlets as Journal <strong>of</strong> Applied <strong>Psychology</strong>,<br />

Journal <strong>of</strong> Personality <strong>and</strong> Social <strong>Psychology</strong>, Organizational Behavior<br />

<strong>and</strong> Human Decision Processes, <strong>The</strong> Academy <strong>of</strong> Management Review, Academy<br />

<strong>of</strong> Management Journal, <strong>and</strong> the Annual Review <strong>of</strong> <strong>Psychology</strong>. She co-edited<br />

(with Jeanne Brett) <strong>The</strong> H<strong>and</strong>book <strong>of</strong> Negotiation <strong>and</strong> Culture. Pr<strong>of</strong>essor Gelf<strong>and</strong><br />

received the Ernest J. McCormick Award for Early Career Contributions<br />

from the Society for Industrial <strong>and</strong> Organizational <strong>Psychology</strong> <strong>and</strong><br />

the LL Cummings Scholar Award from the Organizational Behavior <strong>of</strong>
