various national conferences <strong>and</strong> received funding from the National<br />

Institute for Occupational Safety <strong>and</strong> Health for her research on social<br />

stressors. Her applied experience spans the areas <strong>of</strong> selection, promotional<br />

testing, performance appraisal, <strong>and</strong> job analysis in both the public<br />

<strong>and</strong> private sectors.<br />

Peter J. Carnevale is Pr<strong>of</strong>essor <strong>of</strong> <strong>Psychology</strong> at New York University with<br />

an appointment in the Department <strong>of</strong> Management <strong>and</strong> Organizations at<br />

the Stern School <strong>of</strong> Business. His research focuses on the interplay <strong>of</strong> cognition,<br />

motivation, emotion, <strong>and</strong> culture in negotiation <strong>and</strong> mediation <strong>of</strong><br />

<strong>conflict</strong>s. He was the inaugural recipient <strong>of</strong> the Jeffrey Z. Rubin <strong>The</strong>ory-to-<br />

Practice Award, 2002, awarded by the International Association for Conflict<br />

Management; <strong>and</strong> he is co-editor (with Carsten K. W. De Dreu) <strong>of</strong> the<br />

eclectic collection Methods <strong>of</strong> Negotiation Research (2006).<br />

Ying Chen is a doctoral student in organizational studies at V<strong>and</strong>erbilt<br />

University. Her research focuses on <strong>conflict</strong> management, diversity, <strong>and</strong><br />

the effects <strong>of</strong> social/cultural contexts on interpersonal processes within<br />

organizations. Her current research projects include empirical studies <strong>of</strong><br />

the effects <strong>of</strong> family-friendly HR policies on employee well-being, multinational<br />

companies’ union strategies, <strong>and</strong> the relationship between leaders’<br />

strategic displays <strong>of</strong> negative emotions <strong>and</strong> employees’ job performance.<br />

Donald E. Conlon is the Eli Broad Pr<strong>of</strong>essor <strong>of</strong> Management <strong>and</strong> Chairperson<br />

<strong>of</strong> the Department <strong>of</strong> Management at the Eli Broad College <strong>of</strong> Business,<br />

Michigan State University. His research focuses on organizational<br />

justice, negotiation <strong>and</strong> dispute resolution, <strong>and</strong> managerial decision making.<br />

Dr. Conlon has published in a variety <strong>of</strong> journals including Administrative<br />

Science Quarterly, Academy <strong>of</strong> Management Journal, <strong>The</strong> Academy <strong>of</strong><br />

Management Review, Journal <strong>of</strong> Applied <strong>Psychology</strong>, <strong>and</strong> Organizational Behavior<br />

<strong>and</strong> Human Decision Processes. He received his Ph.D. from the organizational<br />

behavior group at the University <strong>of</strong> Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.<br />

Russell Cropanzano is the Brien Lesk Pr<strong>of</strong>essor <strong>of</strong> Organizational<br />

Behavior at the University <strong>of</strong> Arizona’s Eller College <strong>of</strong> Management. Dr.<br />

Cropanzano’s primary research areas include perceptions <strong>of</strong> organizational<br />

justice as well as the experience <strong>and</strong> impact <strong>of</strong> workplace emotion.<br />

He has edited four books, presented over 60 papers, <strong>and</strong> published roughly<br />

80 scholarly articles <strong>and</strong> chapters. He is a co-author (with Robert Folger)<br />

<strong>of</strong> the book Organizational Justice <strong>and</strong> Human Resources Management, which<br />

won the 1998 Book Award from the International Association <strong>of</strong> Conflict
