Highlights Itinerary<br />

Shell Beach | This amazing 60km-long stretch of<br />

snow-white beach is made up of billions of tiny<br />

coquina bivalve shells - one of only two beaches<br />

like it in the world.<br />

Monkey Mia | Wander the shores and watch for<br />

the famous Monkey Mia dolphins – they come<br />

in regularly throughout the day to interact with<br />

people. Our accommodation is right by the beach,<br />

so you have even more chance of seeing them.<br />

Shark Bay | Explore this World Heritage Listed<br />

bay’s amazing natural features and extensive<br />

marine life.<br />

<strong>Pinnacle</strong>s Desert | This eerie ‘moonscape’ desert<br />

is made up of thousands of limestone pillars up to<br />

four metre tall, rising out of yellow quartz sand.<br />

Kalbarri National Park | Explore stunning<br />

scenery, red-rock gorges, spectacular coastal<br />

cliffs, birdlife and native animals and (in season)<br />

wildflowers in this protected park. We visit one of<br />

its most spectacular red river gorges, Hawks Head.<br />

Wildflowers (seasonal) | More than 12 000<br />

species of wildflowers cover 2.5 million sq km<br />

for several months each year. In season, we take<br />

some time to enjoy their beauty.<br />

Day 1: Perth to Monkey Mia<br />

We journey to the lobster fishing town<br />

of Port Denison for lunch by the water’s<br />

edge, head to Greenough Flats, known<br />

for unusual ‘leaning trees’, travel via<br />

Geraldton and Northampton to Shark Bay<br />

to our accommodation at Monkey Mia. (LD)<br />

Day 2: Monkey Mia to Kalbarri<br />

Spend time at the waters edge this morning<br />

for a chance to interact with the wild dolphins<br />

(not guaranteed). This afternoon we visit<br />

Denham for lunch, then Shell Beach and<br />

the Stromatolites, and travel to Kalbarri<br />

National Park and visit Hawks Head. (BLD)<br />

Day 3: Kalbarri to Perth<br />

Homeward bound, we enjoy sightseeing along<br />

coastal gorges, breaking for lunch at the rock<br />

lobster fishing village of Cervantes. We stroll<br />

through <strong>Pinnacle</strong>s Desert before continuing<br />

back to Perth. (BL)
