Coral Coast Region<br />

The Coral Coast is named due to the<br />

extensive 260 kilometre coral reef<br />

that runs along the edge of Western<br />

Australia. It is so easy to explore this<br />

beautiful fringe reef as in places you<br />

can snorkel right off the beach.<br />

View amazing coral and turtles or search for Dolphins, Manta<br />

Rays and the majestic Whale Sharks.<br />

The Coral Coast holds many treasures to discover including;<br />

World Heritage listed Shark Bay, the intimate dolphin meeting<br />

site of Monkey Mia and Kalbarri National Park. This 183 000<br />

hectare National Park provides spectacular scenery. In season<br />

you can find more than 12 000 species of wildflowers covering<br />

2.5 million square kilometres of Western Australia for several<br />

months each year.<br />

On the coast is little known Shell Beach glistening with millions<br />

of tiny white shells. At the base of Shark Bay is Hamelin Pool<br />

and the best collection of living marine stromatolites in the<br />

world. Rolling white sand dunes of Lancelin provide perfect<br />

sand boarding and 4WD opportunities.<br />

There is nothing quite like the mystical moon like landscape<br />

of the <strong>Pinnacle</strong>s Desert. Stunning photos come easily as<br />

limestone pillars rise up to 4 metres out of the yellow<br />

sands casting shadows.<br />

South West Region<br />

Margaret River is the perfect place to<br />

indulge in gourmet food and premium<br />

wine. There may only be around 60<br />

wineries here, but they contribute<br />

more than 20 percent of Australia’s<br />

premium wine. Stock up on the region’s<br />

most renowned variety, Cabernet Sauvignon or sample the<br />

Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Shiraz and Semillon. Your<br />

taste buds will be sated when complimented with locally<br />

produced chocolates, cheese and condiments. The township<br />

itself is home to restaurants and cafés where you can sample<br />

the local produce, as well as small galleries selling the work<br />

of local artists.<br />

The beautiful South West region is also home to ancient<br />

forests. Explore the tranquility of Boranup Forest and walk<br />

amongst towering Karri trees. For a birds eye view of the<br />

Tingle Trees we walk along an elevated walkway 40 metres<br />

above the ground on a Tree Top Walk in Denmark.<br />

Hidden beneath the magical forests is an underground<br />

cave network. View rock formations, fossils and remains of<br />

Australian megafauna (giant mammals) at Mammoth Cave.<br />

Above the ground granite formations are laid bare, we visit<br />

Wave Rock (believed to be 2700 million years in the making)<br />

– which stands like a giant wave ready to crash on the<br />

bushland ‘shore’.
