For the fine print:
The fiber laser marker that marks
the smallest and finest codes
• LF050 codes with high resolution. With a wave-
length 10 times shorter than that of a CO 2 laser mark-
er, high beam quality and superior galvanometer
scanning technology the system marks with high
resolution, fast, precise and with excellent legibility.
• LF050 works reliably and is easy to maintain.
any production environment. Thanks to it‘s dovetail
joint with integrated fine height adjustment, a five
meter detachable fiber conduit and it‘s small and
compact system design.
ALLTEC LF050 is THE laser marker for the elec-
tronics industry. This continuous wave fiber laser
marker* has been primarily designed to mark molded
housings of discrete and integrated components as
well as circuit boards, precisely, with high quality and
in the shortest of time. Moreover, the LF050 is also
suitable for marking foils, films, bags and composite
packagings used in the packaging industries.
The range of information that can be marked (expiry/
manufacturer’s dates, batch/ line numbers, ID matrix/
bar codes, graphics, individual data, etc.) is virtually unli-
mited, and can be applied both to stationary as well as
to moving parts (marking on the fly).
With the LF050 line widths well below 30 µm can
be achieved, enabeling character heights of 150 µm
and less.
DP2UV
Basic system 2 W
With the innovative diode laser DP2UV FOBA expands its product portfolio into the
ultra violet range. The novel resonator design guarantees an efficient laser power in
the medium range of 2 W with a wavelength of 355 nm.
The typical pulse duration of 20 ns at a beam diameter of 20 µm now allows „cold
marking“ predominantly by photochemical reactions. High quality markings with
reduced material damage are the highlights e.g. in marking of flame protected
plastics and glass.
Advantages
Long working life of special
laser crystals means little
The Hardware
Modular, flexible, ergonomic
FOBA G3 is a laser processing machine for laser marking
(including inner ring markings), 2D/3D deep laser engraving,
surface patterning and finishing. The G3 is available as
rotary table machine or as X/Y cross table station. It can be
equipped with a laser system that is suited for the customerspecific
application. Up to five axes can be set up and driven
either manually or fully automatically (X, Y, Z, swivel axis,
rotary unit).
With a footprint of 1.4 m 2 , FOBA G3 fits through standard
doors. As a result of the compact design, the workstation
can easily be integrated into any lab environment.
The stable machine frame and alignable and repeatable
axes ensure repeatable machine operation, accurate markings
and exact documentation over a significant period of time.
The ergonomic machine for standing and seated work
accommodates the individual user’s needs: The input table
(with monitor and keyboard) is vertically adjustable, the
monitor can also be swivelled.
Model Applications
Implants
The Software
Intuitive, powerful, safe
FOBA EMC and FOBA MarkUS, intuitive user interfaces for
engraving and marking, create user-friendly and flexible
programming environments with program traceability and
axes control. FOBA EMC is the central control software for all
engravings (3D); FOBA MarkUS TM is the software for all laser
marking applications (2D).
In the full version, FOBA EMC comes with the 3D software
FOBA 3D. As an option, the vision system IMP can be added.
FOBA MarkUS is available with the camera systems IMP
and Point & Shoot for automated or manual vision alignment.
→ Software security features: several freely configurable,
password protected user access levels
→ MarkUS archive feature: all-in-one job file format
(mark data, layout positions, parameters, etc.) for easy
archival and retrieval of jobs to any location
For precision and repetition accuracy:
Vision alignment with IMP and Point & Shoot
The vision systems IMP (Intelligent Mark Positioning) and Point & Shoot
ensure ultimate precision and repeatability as well as micron-precise
processings and a fully computer-controlled process.
The patented camera system IMP automatically detects work pieces and their
positioning, and adjusts the marking/engraving accordingly. That is why
IMP is ideal for automated batch production.
→ Reduction of scrap and mismarked parts through vision alignment:
Elimination of the wrong mark on the wrong part by visually verifying
the proper part geometry prior to marking; should this part validation fail,
the part is not marked; an error message is written, communicating the
failure to the user.
→ Automatic component alignment: IMP adjusts automatically to changes in
the component and the component position. Users in special markets
such as medical technology or the pharmaceutical industry are bound to
strict adherence to defined processes. Possible changes to accepted marking
templates must therefore be documented in detail. In that the IMP
vision alignment system detects changed component positions and defective
or flawed parts automatically and aligns the marking relative to these,
it is no longer or only very seldom necessary to adapt marking jobs and
thus existing processes.
With Point & Shoot marking contents are placed manually directly on a
screen image of the product to be marked. This system is perfect for the processing
of high-quality work pieces and individual parts.
Both imaging systems allow an upfront verification of what the mark will
look like and where it will be. IMP and Point & Shoot TM thus help to reduce
high-cost fixtures and help to avoid expensive production stops and timeconsuming
trial-and-error processes.
→ More profitability and productivity: Work time savings due to faster
production, reduction of expenses for product holders and fixtures
→ Consistent highest marking/engraving quality and accuracy without
compromise
Automatic mark alignment and verification
The camera system IMP automatically detects
work pieces and their positioning, and
adjusts the marking/engraving accordingly.
IMP also detects changes in the part geometry
or position and defective or faulty components.
Either the processing is re-aligned
automatically or – in the case of parts with
negative test results – completely skipped.
The operator is informed with an error message
instead. Thus, IMP ensures less scrap
and mismarked products.
More flexibility
for individual processes
With its verification feature, IMP provides the
capability to achieve pre-mark or post-mark
verifications. The pre-mark verification feature
prevents over marking already marked
parts. The post-mark verification validates
that the mark placement is accurate (position
and orientation). This feature also helps check
for poor contrast marks that can be caused by
an early degradation of the laser performance
or a change in material characteristics.
Verification report: Due to bumps on the
surface of the raw material, part #6 failed the
inspection, the Y position exceeded the 0.1 mm
tolerance.
The M-Series adapts to the customer's laser process and not vice versa. The
workstation provides the flexibility that is needed to design, extend, ensure
and implement these laser processes.
→ Interfaces in the working chamber of the workstation for the integration of
auxiliary equipment or instruments (cameras, measurement devices, sensors,
etc.) are available as an option
→ Flexible machine control for the integration of additional process steps
(quality assurance/control, etc.)
For precision and repeatability:
Vision alignment with IMP and Point & Shoot
The vision systems IMP (Intelligent Mark Positioning) and Point & Shoot
ensure ultimate precision and repeatability.
With Point & Shoot marking contents are placed manually directly on a
screen image of the product to be marked. This system is perfect for the processing
of high-quality work pieces and individual parts.
The Point & Shoot TM camera focuses (through the lens) on the marking field*,
creates an image of the component, and displays it in the MarkUS TM user interface.
The user creates the marking and places it (via drag & drop) precisely
where it should be applied on the product. Less scrap, more economy, and increased
productivity are the results.
* The visual field of the camera depends on the configuration of the laser optics used.
→ Automatic mark alignment: Users from different markets are bound to
strictly comply to defined processes, particularly if the mark position accuracy
has a significant added value. The IMP vision alignment system validates
the part integrity, measures its position and automatically aligns the
marking relative to the part.
→ Automatic mark verification: With its verification feature, IMP provides the
capability to achieve pre-mark or post-mark verifications. The pre-mark
verification feature prevents over marking already marked parts. The postmark
verification validates that the mark placement is accurate (position
and orientation). This feature also helps check for poor contrast marks that
can be caused by an early degradation of the laser performance or a
change in material characteristics.
→ Consistent highest marking/engraving quality and accuracy without
compromise
Practical add-on: The Point & Shoot TM camera image can also be
used for focusing: A) Blurry/not focused correctly, B) Focused correctly,
C) Marked perfectly
Vision system FOBA IMP:
Detects parts/positions, and
aligns the processing automatically
and precisely as required.
Verification report: Part #6
failed inspection as the Y position
exceeded the 0.1 mm tolerance.
A) B)
* Needs additional and/or special hardware
For ultimate flexibility:
Various marking formats
→ Multiple language fonts
→ Machine-readable codes (bar codes, 2D and QR codes)
→ Graphics/graphic components, logos, symbols, etc.
(the most common formats can be imported)
→ Grayscale images and contents
→ Complex fillings (hatch, contour and meander)
→ Linear, circular and angular text marking; ring writing,
rotation, reflection, expansion, compression, horizontal
and vertical stretching of marking contents and texts
→ Sequence and serial numbering; automatic date,
FOBA DataMaster
Intelligent data distribution software: Easy to use and set up.
Clear and intuitive.
DataMaster is an intelligent program for the balanced distribution of data – such as various codes – from source files to up to
eight FOBA laser marking systems. The software is perfect for applications where large amounts of highly sensitive data are
to be distributed synchronously. DataMaster is especially suited for applications requiring data security and demanding ultimate
operator ease-of-use. DataMaster is a real graphical user interface program; it helps users to reduce code errors and
waste, and increases uptime while quickly marking products and parts with the requested contents.
Your product benefits
→
→
Clear and intuitive: The DataMaster display was created
with the operator in mind. The cell-based screen layout
provides for utmost clarity, is easy to follow and intuitively
guides the user with a limited set of icons, sensible
text and color codes.
Cutting-edge screen concept for utmost clarity: The entire
UI is always visible, including status of all connected lasers,
campaigns, users, settings and performance. By
clicking into a cell, the UI changes by enlarging the active
cell and compressing all other cells. Intuitive navigation.
A: Crown – winning data, B: Data – general
data, C: Factory – data code creation via
→
1-2-3: Logging and excluding: DataMaster comes with an
extensive logging feature that enables tracking of actions
related to campaigns (setup, start/stop marking), data import
and printed codes. The software is capable of intelligently
distinguishing between general data and “special”
winning data, and provides a visual code safety feature. If
codes have been used once, their respective data file is
grayed out in the display. Thus, they are excluded from
being marked a second time. Users can also create special
exclusion lists for data being excluded for marking.
