Puttom park and forest golf course set scenically
between two small lakes. The course
is slightly undulating with the 18 holes in a
four-leaf clover layout. Restaurant.

E3 SKAGSHAMN OCH SKEPPSMALN
Fishing village and pilot station, old fishermen's
sheds and fisher's chapel from the 18th
century. Skagsudde lighthouse, well known
through radio shipping forecasts, stands on
the rocks. The Lotstigen trail passes through
the area.
E3 FISKEVISTET- SURSTRÖMMING
MUSEUM Fiskevistet's fermented herring
(surströmming) museum with boat museum
and summer exhibition is situated in the
northern High Coast region. Restaurant and

E2 GIDEÅ BASJKIRHÄSTAR
Basjkir is the name often given to allergy
friendly horses. Gideå Basjkir horses offers
forest tours, lessons, riding camp and stud

E2 SKALLBERGSGROTTORNA
Skallberget offers a fantastic viewpoint and a
system of caves with deep crevices for those
who can and dare. There is a tourist trail with
steps etc. through some caves making them
accessible to the general public. Other caves
and crevices in the system are not adapted in
any way. Equip yourself with a torch, robust
clothing and a helmet. The Granto bathing
place and a rest cabin are close by.

Gallery with temporary exhibitions and a
gallery shop with exhibition and sale of paintings,
sculpture, glassware, ceramics, textiles

E2 GRUNDSUNDAVALLEN & GRUND-
SUNDA KYRKA At Grundsundavallen there
is a mediaeval church and community centre
with a baking house from Skede. Church
annex, stable, grain store to provide for impoverished
farmers, storehouse, round barn,
large hay-drying rack. Refreshments available.

E2 SALUSANDS HAVSBAD Salusand lies
half way between Örnsköldsvik and Umeå,
has a long sandy beach and is close to the E4.

E3 INRE HAMNEN
The inner harbour is an area that has developed
into a meeting place for work as much
as leisure. The Travel centre (Resecentrum)
bus and rail hub is located here. Next to the
Travel centre you will find the Culture factory
with art exhibitions. Arken Tjänstecentrum-
service centre houses a wide variety
of service companies. The upper-secondary
school and university add to the air of activity
in the area, and there is a conglomeration of
restaurants and other social meeting places.
The Blue-flag qualified guest harbour, among
Sweden's best, is also located here. The world
renowned potter Hans Hedberg's works
are on exhibit in one of Arken's glass-roofed

The library at Arken is one of the most modern

There is no shortage of shopping opportunity
in Örnsköldsvik. Here you will find small,
charming shops, large, well-stocked specialist
shops and department stores. Oskargallerian
with 32 shops under one roof is one of the
largest shopping malls in Norrland.
The town is expanding rapidly and now has
three malls. Pay a visit to Citylekparken (play
park) located between the square and the
museum.
E3 VARVSBERGET
The view over the town center, harbour area
and coast from the restaurant on Varvsberget
in itself makes the trip up well worthwhile.
This is the starting or finishing point of the
ÖRNSKÖLDSVIK 13
High Coast trail and here lies Hörnsjön nature
reserve. A 510 m long chairlift runs from
the ski-jump braking area at Paradiskullen to
the top of Varvsberget 125 m above.
E3 KNASIGA KOJAN
Knasiga kojan is the name of Örnsköldsvik's
indoor playland. A 1 500 m2 large installation
for the whole family. There is ample play
space for activities for children of all ages.

all. Laser games, pentathlon, golf simulator, relax
