D3 SJÄLEVADS KYRKA Some years ago this church was voted the most beautiful in Sweden in a nationwide ballot. It is one of the few octagonal churches in the country. Here there are hay barns, hay-drying racks and an old lumberjack cabin. Parking. C1 STOCKHOLMSGATA Nature reserve with an imposing primary rock canyon formed by the inland ice, steep drops, old natural forest, giant pot-holes, caves, boulders, dead wood and bewitching lakes. Overnight cabin. E3 GULLVIKS HAVSBAD Bathing place on the Norrland coast with a wonderful sandy beach, BBQ places, playground and view from Ögeltjärnsberget. Camping and cabins. Adjoining Gullvik you will find the open-air recreation area, Ögeltjärn's nature reserve, with trails and the 91 m high Ögeltjärnsberget, providing a splendid view out over the archipelago. There is a tourist trail with steps etc. through some caves making them accessible to the general public. Other caves and crevices in the system are not adapted in any way. The Travel centre (Resecentrum) bus and rail hub is located here. Next to the Travel centre you will find the Culture factory with art exhibitions. Arken Tjänstecentrum- service centre houses a wide variety of service companies. The upper-secondary school and university add to the air of activity in the area, and there is a conglomeration of restaurants and other social meeting places. The Blue-flag qualified guest harbour, among Sweden's best, is also located here. The world renowned potter Hans Hedberg's works are on exhibit in one of Arken's glass-roofed halls. Here you will find small, charming shops, large, well-stocked specialist shops and department stores. Oskargallerian with 32 shops under one roof is one of the largest shopping malls in Norrland. The town is expanding rapidly and now has three malls. Pay a visit to Citylekparken (play park) located between the square and the museum. E3 VARVSBERGET The view over the town center, harbour area and coast from the restaurant on Varvsberget in itself makes the trip up well worthwhile. This is the starting or finishing point of the ÖRNSKÖLDSVIK 13 High Coast trail and here lies Hörnsjön nature reserve. A 510 m long chairlift runs from the ski-jump braking area at Paradiskullen to the top of Varvsberget 125 m above. E3 KNASIGA KOJAN Knasiga kojan is the name of Örnsköldsvik's indoor playland.
