The <strong>DCE</strong>-Danish Centre <strong>for</strong> Environment and Energy, Aarhus University is<br />

contracted by the Ministry of the Environment and the Ministry of Climate,<br />

Energy and Building to complete emission inventories <strong>for</strong> Denmark. Department<br />

of Environmental Science, Aarhus University is responsible <strong>for</strong><br />

calculation and reporting of the Danish national emission inventory to EU<br />

and the UNFCCC (United Nations Framework Convention on Climate<br />

Change) and UNECE CLRTAP (Convention on Long Range Transboundary<br />

Air Pollution) conventions.<br />

According to the guidelines <strong>for</strong> reporting emission data under the Convention<br />

on Long-Range Transboundary Air Pollution (ECE/EB.AIR/97) prepared<br />

by the Task Force on Emission Inventories and Projections and approved<br />

by the Executive Body, countries party to the UNECE-Convention<br />

on Long-Range Transboundary Air Pollution should annually submit an in<strong>for</strong>mative<br />

inventory report to the Secretariat. The new reporting Guidelines<br />

(ECE/EB.AIR/97) were accepted at the meeting of the Executive Body in<br />

December 2008. Due to lack of resources, it has not been possible to incorporate<br />

the new elements of the new reporting guidelines in this submission.<br />

This report is Denmark’s Annual In<strong>for</strong>mative Inventory <strong>Report</strong> due March<br />

15, 2012. The report contains in<strong>for</strong>mation on Denmark’s inventories <strong>for</strong> all<br />

years from the base years of the protocols to 2010.<br />

The annual emission inventory <strong>for</strong> Denmark is reported in the Nomenclature<br />

<strong>for</strong> <strong>Report</strong>ing (NFR) 2009 <strong>for</strong>mat.<br />

The issues addressed in this report are: trends in emissions, description of<br />

each NFR category, uncertainty estimates, recalculations, planned improvements<br />

and procedures <strong>for</strong> quality assurance and control. The outline in annex<br />

V of the reporting guidelines is followed as far as possible.<br />

The <strong>DCE</strong>-Danish Centre <strong>for</strong> Environment and Energy (<strong>DCE</strong>), Aarhus University,<br />

is responsible <strong>for</strong> the annual preparation and submission to the UN-<br />

ECE-LRTAP Convention of the Annual Danish Emissions <strong>Report</strong>, and the<br />

inventories in the NFR Format in accordance with the guidelines. <strong>DCE</strong> participates<br />

in meetings under the UNECE Task Force on Emission Inventories<br />

and Projections and the related expert panels where parties to the conven-
