Matthew <strong>Middlehurst</strong>, was a cabinet maker in <strong>Falkirk</strong>. Matthew <strong>Middlehurst</strong> was<br />

married to Elizabeth Johnston and their daughter was Margaret Muirhead<br />

<strong>Middlehurst</strong> who married Alexander Graham and lived at Merchiston House <strong>Falkirk</strong>.<br />

Mathew acted as cautioner for the apprenticeship indenture of Mathew Alexander<br />

<strong>Middlehurst</strong>, son of the deceased James <strong>Middlehurst</strong>, cabinet maker, to Russel &<br />

Aitken, writers, so it is likely that Matthew Alexander <strong>Middlehurst</strong> was his nephew.<br />

The <strong>family</strong> were clients of Russel & Aitken, who dealt with their property matters and<br />
