Pres Pres. Peters<strong>on</strong>’s Peters<strong>on</strong> s campus bulletin dated May 12 12, 2010<br />
• The m<strong>on</strong>thly cost <strong>for</strong> a standard permit will be $52.66<br />
• Cost had been scheduled to rise to $650 prior to Pres Pres.<br />
Peters<strong>on</strong>’s announcement<br />
• The m<strong>on</strong>thly cost <strong>for</strong> a standard permit would have been<br />
$54.16<br />
• Limited increase is a symbolic gesture<br />
– Good <strong>for</strong> morale<br />
– Not so much <strong>for</strong> tangible g savings g

Future Parking Fee Increases Anticipated<br />
• $30 annual increases are projected <strong>for</strong> the next<br />

• Increases can take place every year, or larger<br />

• Over time, these small increases can add up to a<br />

Centergy Parking Structure Permits<br />
• Email stating that E‐82 is no l<strong>on</strong>ger part of Parking and<br />
Transportati<strong>on</strong>:<br />
– GA Tech <strong>employee</strong>s could c<strong>on</strong>tinue to park there, but<br />
payment py would have to be arranged g with Centergy gy<br />
– Negotiati<strong>on</strong>s with Centergy resolved<br />
– Situati<strong>on</strong> back to status quo. Payment through payroll<br />
deducti<strong>on</strong> as usual. People who park there have been<br />
notified<br />

GA Tech Hotel Parking<br />
• Locati<strong>on</strong> is becoming more popular, but not full<br />
• Space is available <strong>on</strong> upper levels<br />
• Maybe some people will move from the Hotel back to<br />
Centergy

• Parking is aware of the problem<br />
• People who had permits <strong>for</strong> more than <strong>on</strong>e locati<strong>on</strong><br />
were the most susceptible<br />
• Database + Spreadsheets = Trouble<br />
• Issue should be under c<strong>on</strong>trol now (we’ll see)

• $100 more than standard <strong>parking</strong> permit<br />

• Permits <strong>for</strong> 3 lots cost $150 extra<br />
• Departments can buy a business use decal<br />
• If people d<strong>on</strong>’t pay more <strong>for</strong> multiple‐lot <strong>parking</strong>, then<br />
we all have to subsidize it through higher standard fees
