School of Mathematics<br />
• New courses:<br />
• MATH 1503: Calculus I for the Life Sciences 4‐0‐4<br />
MATH 1504: Calculus II for the Life Sciences 4‐0‐4<br />
• There were several issues noted in regard to this proposal.<br />
• Clean‐up, as needed, for all courses that have MATH 1501 and 1502<br />
as prerequisites<br />
• Each academic unit will have to decide if MATH 1503 and 1504 are<br />
actually interchangeable as prerequisites or if the more limited<br />
Linear Algebra in the new courses will pose a problem<br />
• Already teaching this content ‐ have sections of MATH 1501 and 1502<br />
that are restricted to Biology majors and that operate the way these<br />
new courses are proposed<br />
• MATH 1522 can continue to serve as bridge course, if needed, to<br />
provide more Linear Algebra content
