2001 ACEEE Summer Study on Energy Efficiency in Industry<br />

The 2001 American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy<br />
(ACEEE) Summer Study will discuss technical, policy, and program<br />
issues related to increasing energy efficiency in industry.<br />

Training Program on Cleaner Production Technologies<br />
September 2001<br />
The <strong>Asian</strong> Society for Environmental Protection (ASEP) in cooperation<br />
wi<strong>th</strong> <strong>th</strong>e Fraunh<strong>of</strong>er <strong>Institute</strong> for F<strong>ac</strong>tory Operation<br />
and Automation (FhG-IFF), and wi<strong>th</strong> support from Carl Duisberg<br />
Gesellschaft e.V. (CDG), is organizing <strong>th</strong>e Second Training<br />
on Cleaner Production Technologies commencing in mid-<br />
September 2001 at <strong>th</strong>e University <strong>of</strong> Magdeburg in Magdeburg,<br />
Germany. The 8-week program will <strong>of</strong>fer training in <strong>th</strong>e<br />
field <strong>of</strong> cleaner production (treatment and recycling technologies),<br />
tools for effective environmental management systems<br />
(environmental performance indicators, ecobalance), and new<br />
developments and technologies pertaining to cleaner production.<br />
Applicants must have a B<strong>ac</strong>helor <strong>of</strong> Science or Engineering,<br />
good English communication skills, basic computer skills,<br />
and not be over 35 years <strong>of</strong> age. Accommodation and training<br />
will be funded by CDG. Travel expenses to <strong>th</strong>e Federal Republic<br />
<strong>of</strong> Germany will have to be borne by <strong>th</strong>e participants. For<br />
