2001 ACEEE Summer Study on Energy Efficiency in Industry
Increasing Productivity Through Energy Efficiency
July 24-27, 2001, New York
The 2001 American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy
(ACEEE) Summer Study will discuss technical, policy, and program
issues related to increasing energy efficiency in industry.
Presentations and discussions will relate to the theme,
"Increasing Productivity Through Energy Efficiency." Attendees
will include energy decision makers from industry, equipment
manufacturers, government policymakers, electric utility staff,
energy consultants, leading industrial energy researchers and

Training Program on Cleaner Production Technologies
September 2001
The Asian Society for Environmental Protection (ASEP) in cooperation
with the Fraunhofer Institute for Factory Operation
and Automation (FhG-IFF), and with support from Carl Duisberg
Gesellschaft e.V. (CDG), is organizing the Second Training
on Cleaner Production Technologies commencing in mid-
September 2001 at the University of Magdeburg in Magdeburg,
Germany. The 8-week program will offer training in the
field of cleaner production (treatment and recycling technologies),
tools for effective environmental management systems
(environmental performance indicators, ecobalance), and new
developments and technologies pertaining to cleaner production.
Applicants must have a Bachelor of Science or Engineering,
good English communication skills, basic computer skills,
and not be over 35 years of age. Accommodation and training
will be funded by CDG. Travel expenses to the Federal Republic
of Germany will have to be borne by the participants. For

International Conference on Cleaner Production, Beijing,
China September 4-5, 2001
China Council for International Cooperation on Environment
and Development, China-Canada Cooperation Project on
Cleaner Production and National Cleaner Production Centre
(China), will organize an international conference to exchange
experiences on cleaner production and promote cleaner production
implementation. The themes of the conference are:
policies and regulations for cleaner production, theory of
cleaner production, techniques and practices of cleaner production

The Philippine Association for the Advancement of Science
(PhilAAS) will organize this conference. The conference theme
