Cleaner Production Certificate Program at AIT New Course A certificate course introducing concepts of Cleaner Production (CP) to industry personnel, policy makers and educators will be offered at the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) during 4 September-30 November 2001. This three month course is designed to enhance the participants' technical and management skills to implement cleaner production concepts in their respective work places. The following four courses will be offered: 1. Cleaner Production 2. Environmental Economics 3. Corporate Environmental Management, and 4. Eco-design and Manufacturing Systems The courses will be conducted in classrooms and web based lectures, video presentations, field visits, assignments, simulation games and case studies. Each course is delivered by lectures of three hours per week. External resource persons may also be invited from various organizations to share their experiences regarding CP applications in Asia. Admission Requirements: Eligible participants must hold a four year bachelor degree or its equivalent in an appropriate field of study from an institute of recognized standing. Their undergraduate grades should be significantly above average. All applicants for AIT programs are expected to produce evidence of proficiency in English. Fees and Expenses: The tuition fee for the Certificate Program is US$ 4,004. Dormitory accommodation (AIT campus) is available at additional cost. Travel, daily subsistence and all other costs are the participants responsibility. Participants should contact relevant organisations and institutions for financial support.
