product from gas into liquid. The product produced in the reactor is crude oil, and then
crude oil must distilled to separate each kind of petroleum products depending on the
boiling point. The liquid hydrocarbons are then collected in a storage tank through a
receiver tank. Gaseous hydrocarbons such as methane, ethane, propylene and butanes can
be used as fuel for pyrolysis reactor or are incinerated in a flare stack (UNEP, 2009).
Figure 2.21 presents a schematic diagram of a liquid fuel production plant, and the
overview of oil recovery plant is shown in Figure 2.22.
