This Unit performs a collection of chemical reactions that converts a mixture of CO and
hydrogen from water steam (H2O) into liquid hydrocarbons and H2. It is a catalytic gas to
liquid technology that produces synthetic Hydrocarbons (lubrication oil, alcohols, waxes
etc.) and synthetic fuel (Diesel). The unit is fed by the Synthesis gas of the two gasifier
mentioned above and claims to be the first of its technology type constructed in Thailand.
The Synthesis gas requires to be desulfurized in order to avoid catalyst poisoning- catalysts
are usually cobalt-or Iron-based.

This Laboratory contains several Gas- and Liquid-Chromatography Units. Here the gas and
condensate products from the above mentioned conversion units can be monitored and
quantified. There are approx. six GC units and two LC units available and sampling is done
on-line during operation of the conversion units.
