Glen Owen Heller was born June 26, 1925 in Williston, ND,
the fourth child born to Christ and Anna (Zemliska) Heller. He
was raised on the family farm and attended grade school at
Pioneer School, northwest of Williston, and Williston High
School.
In 1944 he entered into the service with the US Army, served
with the infantry in Europe, and was in the Battle of the Bulge.
He was discharged in 1946 as a 1 st Sergeant.
He returned to the farm for a time. Six months later he became
an electrician and began electrical work in the oilfields for
Gardner Electric starting in the early 1950’s. He worked as an
electrician for fifty years.
In 1978-79 Glen and his family built a cabin at Long Creek
which they continued to enjoy for many years. He also
purchased and enjoyed remodeling several houses; he was an
avid flower and vegetable gardener.
On August 6, 1950 Glen was united in marriage to Jennine
Raulston and together they had six children. She died on
August 6, 1998.
On August 9, 2000 Glen married Maxine Fladmo. They spent
their time together going to dances and casinos, playing cards,
and traveling.
Surviving Glen are his wife, Maxine, of Williston; his children,
Lyle Heller of Williston; Charlene Jenson and her husband,
Lynn, of Fargo, ND, Karen Bean and her husband, Lowell,
Glenda Vennes and her husband, Jerry, Myron Heller, and Ryan
Heller and his wife, Katie, all of Williston; a stepson, Bob
Fladmo of Glendive, MT; eleven grandchildren and nine greatgrandchildren;
his brother, Gene (Jordis) Heller of Williston;
and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Jennine; his
daughter, Lila Kay Tirey; sisters, Susie Muller, Annette Berg,
and Marjorie Udland; and his brothers, Roy, Lloyd, and Christ
Heller.
