Eurostar Junior Traveller General Conditions 1- Introduction: 1.1 The Eurostar Junior Traveller service is a trial to assess the feasibility of introducing an “unaccompanied minors” service, delivered by qualified accompanying staff, on Eurostar trains. 1.2 The trial service is to be run on 24 designated trains between Paris Nord and St Pancras International during weekends, between Tuesday 7 th May 2013 and Sunday 2 nd June 2013 (see list below) and is subject to availability. Sales for the trial service open on Tuesday 16 th April and close 7 days before departure of the relevant train. 2- Booking the service: 2.1 The Eurostar Junior Traveller service is available for children aged between 8 and 15 years old (inclusive). 2.2 For the purposes of the trial, tickets can only be booked via the Eurostar Contact Centre and you must have an email address to access the Eurostar Junior Traveller service. If calling from the UK: +44 (0) 8448 220 108 If calling from France: +33 (0)1 70 70 99 50 Eurostar Contact Centre opening hours (UK time): 8am to 7pm Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm Saturday 9am to 5pm Sunday & UK Bank Holidays 2.3 To access the Eurostar Junior Traveller service, it is necessary to purchase one standard class Eurostar Junior Traveller ticket on one of the designated trains, at the special fare of 150 EUR/ 120 GBP for a return ticket (or 75 EUR/60 GBP for a single ticket). This fare is subject to availability. No fee is charged for the Eurostar Junior Traveller service in addition to the ticket price. 2.4 The Eurostar ticket and provision of the Eurostar Junior Travellers service will be booked in two parts and you will receive two separate confirmation emails: (i) Confirmation of the train ticket booking and ticket details; and (ii) Confirmation of the Eurostar Junior Traveller service booking, service details and next steps. 2.5 The Eurostar Junior Traveller service confirmation will include a Consent Form which you must print, read, sign and return to us on the departure day. We are unable to provide the Eurostar Junior Traveller service where the Consent Form has not been signed by the appropriate persons and fully completed. 2.6 On the day of departure, your child must be accompanied by you (or an adult nominated by you) to the departure station the person accompanying the child will need to give the completed Consent Form to the Eurostar staff at the station. 2.7 If your child has disabilities or allergies, you must inform the Eurostar Contact Centre team about this at the time of booking. If your child travels in a wheelchair, you must inform Eurostar at the time of booking in order that a wheelchair space can be booked on board. Assistance to children with disabilities using the Eurostar Junior Traveller service will be provided on the same basis as assistance is provided to other persons travelling on board Eurostar with a disability. The Eurostar Junior Traveller service is designed to accompany and supervise children during travel, we are not able to provide specialist care services or provide medical assistance during the journey (for example, the administration of Page 1 General Conditions - Eurostar Junior Traveller

1- Introduction:<br />

2- Booking the service:<br />

medication). You agree to notify to <strong>Eurostar</strong> any medical information that could impact the travel<br />

conditions of your child, failing which could lead <strong>Eurostar</strong> to refuse the access to the <strong>Eurostar</strong> <strong>Junior</strong><br />

<strong>Traveller</strong> service.<br />

2.8 Your child will need to remain with <strong>Eurostar</strong> <strong>Junior</strong> <strong>Traveller</strong> staff for the entire length of the train<br />

journey. Refreshments will not be provided as part of the <strong>Eurostar</strong> <strong>Junior</strong> <strong>Traveller</strong> service and your child<br />

will not be permitted to visit the bar buffet during their journey. You are required to provide your child<br />

with a beverage and a snack for them to consume on the trip.<br />

3- Cancellation and exchange:<br />

3.1 Train Tickets:<br />

Train tickets for the <strong>Eurostar</strong> <strong>Junior</strong> <strong>Traveller</strong> service are exchangeable and refundable before<br />

departure by paying a fee of 30 GBP/40 EUR and the difference in price with the next available fare if<br />

required.<br />

3.2 <strong>Eurostar</strong> <strong>Junior</strong> <strong>Traveller</strong> Service:<br />

The booking of the <strong>Eurostar</strong> <strong>Junior</strong> <strong>Traveller</strong> service is strictly personal and is not transferable, however:<br />

(i) the service date can be changed up to seven days before departure (subject to availability on<br />

designated trains during the trial period and, as stated above, the conditions of the ticket<br />

purchased).<br />

(ii) the service can be cancelled up to seven days before departure.<br />

3.3 Exchange, refund and cancellation of the train ticket, as well as exchange and cancellation of the service<br />

can only be performed by calling the <strong>Eurostar</strong> Contact Centre.<br />

4- Declaration of parent/guardian:<br />

4.1 The carriage of your child is subject to the <strong>Eurostar</strong> <strong>Conditions</strong> of Carriage.<br />

4.2 You guarantee that you have legal responsibility for the child to whom the booking relates and are able<br />

to give permission for the child to travel unaccompanied.<br />

4.3 You warrant the accuracy of the information on the Consent Form to us.<br />

4.4 You confirm that your child does not require special medical care/assistance during the journey. You<br />

acknowledge that we are not responsible for administering any medication to your child nor are we in<br />

any way liable in respect of the administration (or non administration) of such medication.<br />

4.5 You confirm that your child is in possession of all documents (passport, visas etc.) required by the<br />

relevant authorities for your child to travel.<br />

4.6 To the maximum extent permitted by law, you agree to hold us harmless together with each of our<br />

officers, agents and employees against all claims made by or on behalf of the child and/or any other<br />

person arising out of the your child’s travel and/or care.<br />

5- Departure and Arrival conditions:<br />

5.1 You confirm that you have arranged for your child to be escorted to departure and collected upon arrival<br />

by the persons mentioned on the Consent Form.<br />

You confirm that:<br />

(i) the person assigned by you to escort your child to departure will arrive at the designated<br />

assembly point at least one hour and thirty minutes before the scheduled departure time and has been<br />

instructed to remain at the station until the train has departed. If you arrive later than 1 hour and 30<br />

minutes before train departure, we cannot guarantee your child access to the train.<br />

(ii) the person assigned by you to collect your child has been advised to arrive at the arrival station at<br />

least 15 minutes prior to the scheduled arrival time for the train your child is travelling on.<br />

It is your responsibility to ensure that these arrangements have been complied with.<br />

5.2 Upon arrival, we will check the identity document of the person picking up your child and will only allow<br />

them to leave with your child if the identity document matches the information on the form and they<br />

have signed the Consent Form. We will only accept the following kinds of identity documents: -<br />

(i) current passport;<br />

(ii) current EU photo drivers licence; or<br />

(iii) current photo Identity Card issued by an EU Member State.<br />

5.3 Should anyone else come to pick up the child, we will not allow them to leave with your child without<br />

your written permission.<br />

5.4 If you or the person collecting your child at arrival is late you must contact us to advise the length of the<br />

delay.<br />

5.5 Should your child not be collected at the arrival station at the relevant time and/or should the relevant<br />

train service be cancelled or delayed for any reason, you authorise <strong>Eurostar</strong> to take whatever action we<br />

consider appropriate to care for your child, including returning your child to the departure station. You<br />

agree to reimburse <strong>Eurostar</strong> and their agents for all costs associated with such care, including but not<br />

limited to the costs of transportation, accommodation, meals, phone calls and the costs of providing a<br />

carer for the child.<br />

6- Luggage:<br />

6.1 Your child is permitted to carry one small item of hand luggage and one other item of luggage provided<br />

that it does not exceed 10kg (and 85cm in length) labeled with your child’s name and address. Subject<br />

to assistance that may be provided under clause 2.7 above, your child will need to be able to carry their<br />

luggage on their own.<br />

6.2 We accept no responsibility for lost or stolen luggage in the care of your child and you should not allow<br />

your child to travel with valuable objects (jewellery, electronic devices etc) or items prohibited by the<br />

<strong>Eurostar</strong> <strong>Conditions</strong> of Carriage. Please make sure not to add any prohibited items that are specified<br />

under our travel conditions including toys weapons as plastic guns, plastic swords …These items could be<br />

confiscated and destroyed.<br />

7- Handling of Complaints<br />

As per the <strong>Eurostar</strong> <strong>Conditions</strong> of Carriage, any complaints should be addressed to our <strong>Traveller</strong> Care<br />

department in writing (for contact details, see our website www.eurostar.com). We will endeavour to<br />

acknowledge receipt of all complaints within one (1) month of receiving them. We will provide you with a<br />

response to your complaint no later than three (3) months of the receipt date of the complaint.<br />

8- Data Protection<br />

8.1 The personal data you provide to us will be processed in accordance with the <strong>Eurostar</strong> <strong>Conditions</strong> of<br />

Carriage and our privacy policy. In addition you authorize us to disclose the personal information on the<br />

Consent Form to the person meeting your child on arrival, the emergency contact and our subcontractors<br />

providing the<strong>Eurostar</strong> <strong>Junior</strong> <strong>Traveller</strong> service.<br />

8.2 By participating in the trial service you agree that <strong>Eurostar</strong> may contact you using the personal details<br />

you have provided to us on the Consent Form in order to seek feedback on the trial.<br />

9- Amendments<br />

We reserve the right to amend these General <strong>Conditions</strong> at any time. The General <strong>Conditions</strong> which apply<br />

to your child’s journey are those published at your child’s date of travel. We will not amend these<br />

General <strong>Conditions</strong> with retroactive effect following your child’s date of travel.<br />

10- Rights Of Third Parties<br />

Unless expressly provided in these General <strong>Conditions</strong>, none of the terms of our contract with you,<br />

including these General <strong>Conditions</strong>, is enforceable or intended to be enforceable under the Contracts<br />

(Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999 by any party or person other than you.<br />

11- Authority of our staff or agents<br />

Our staff or agents have no authority to waive or change these General <strong>Conditions</strong>.<br />

12- Law and Jurisdiction of Courts<br />

These General <strong>Conditions</strong> and all non-contractual obligations arising from them or connected with them<br />

will be governed by English law. Any person bringing an action under these General <strong>Conditions</strong><br />

irrevocably submits to the jurisdiction of the English Courts.<br />

13- Interpretation<br />

The use of the words "we", "our" and "us" in these General <strong>Conditions</strong>, refers in each case to <strong>Eurostar</strong><br />

International Limited and our agents and subcontractors, and the use of "you" and "your" refers in each<br />

case to any passenger or passengers traveling on our trains.<br />

14- Version<br />

The current version of these General <strong>Conditions</strong> is available on http://www.eurostar.com/uk-en/introducingeurostar-junior-traveller<br />

and at the ticket office in <strong>Eurostar</strong> Paris Nord and St Pancras International.<br />
