READY, SET, GO! Historically, bringing a start-up or existing lottery online from start to finish has been complicated and involved a substantial investment of time and money. So much so that smaller Lotteries might consider the prospect of creating a truly secure, reliable, and manageable online Lottery too daunting a task. This is no longer the case. The GO platform runs the most popular games including: Lotto, Rapid Draw Keno, Numbers, Raffle, and 1x2 Sports Wagering Game. All of the games available include standard play slips, game tickets, and screens that are configured with the Lottery’s logo during the sale process. Semi-Premium Grupo Selco adds 1,000 more Wincor terminals to its network Venezuelans like games of chance. Every available centímo is saved for a visit to the outlets of the country’s numerous lotteries. With more than 3,000 networked branches, Grupo Selco is the largest provider of lotteries, IT systems and support services in Venezuela. For years now, the company, which is headquartered in Barquisimeto and has a branch office in Caracas, has purchased its hardware from Wincor Nixdorf, a global IT group headquartered in Germany. Wincor Nixdorf has meanwhile installed around 3,000 Xion /M terminals in the Caribbean nation – and 1,000 alone were commissioned at the start of the year. With this delivery, Venezuela’s leading lottery company has expanded once again a network of outlets that has almost doubled from 1,600 to 3,000 in just two-and-a-half years! Wincor Nixdorf’s Xion /Mtop terminals are of the very highest standard the company has to offer. In addition, the associated Xiprint+thermal printer outputs tickets at high speed. The powerful duo permits rapid handling at the point of sale. Since 2002, Grupo Selco has cooperated closely with the local branch office of Wincor Nixdorf in Venezuela. With the aid of the local competence team, Wincor Nixdorf’s developers have been able to go on developing the system solutions on site and ensure smooth operation of the terminals.
