Our oldest instant game is called Ekspres
Loterija and was launched in
1971. In 1993, we added a new instant
game called HIP Loterija. In 1997, it was
IZREDNA Sreka and in 2004, the KVIZ
Srečka game.
Today we are selling all four categories
of instant games. Each category has different
parameters (price, percentage
payout, prize-structure and Jackpot, play
style). Every year, we launch from 2 to
6 different games in each category, for
a total of 10 to 12 different games. One
instant game stays usually on the market
from 3 to 6 months and there are at least
6 different games on the market at the
same time.
In the Slovenian market, every game that
has a price tag of more than 3,00 e is considered
a high price ticket. We launched
the first high-price instant ticket for 5,00
e in the end of the year 2007 in the category
of IZREDNA Srečka. The game was
printed in smaller edition and designed
as a New Year’s card. The size of the ticket
was at least twice as big as the normal
ticket. The player had to scratch 12 fields
representing the months of the year and
he had to match at least 3 bells to win a
prize. The more bells he matched, the
bigger was the prize. The payout rate
was 80% and the highest prize 30.000,00
e. This was the only high-price ticket in
Slovenian market.
Scratch-off tailored to Slovenian preferences
In 2007 we have been offering 12 different
games. The most successful game is
Izredna srečka, which is also the most
expensive among all instant games but
has the most attractive prizes and payout
percentage. Our players prefer simple
tickets with non-complicated play style
(like discovering the prizes). Games are
designed with different themes. The
most successful theme in the last two
years has been casino-style games. Since
2003, we have been also offering the socalled
New Year’s ticket, with very good
sale results. The game is more expensive
than an ordinary game in the category of
Izredna srečka and has a higher percentage
payout (up to 80%).

The sales figure of the 5,00 e game was
below our expectations. We believe that
the main reason was the price because
our players are not used to pay more
than 3,00 e for a ticket. We improved our
returns by introducing a marketing approach,
which allows a player to receive
a present for buying two or more tickets.
We specifically designed this game to
make sure it would get the best acceptance
from the public. The game had
one large Jackpot and a lot of lower-tier
prizes. The lowest prize was equivalent
to the price of the ticket. The payout
percentage was 80% and almost 65% of
the tickets won a prize. The payout percentage
was higher than the payout percentage
in other instant tickets and at
the same level as in some extraordinary
games (such as the New Year’s tickets) in
the segment of Izredna srečka.
We do not plan to launch instant games
costing more than 5,00 e at the present
time. According to our market research
and survey, our players are not prepared
to pay more than 5,00 e for a lottery
ticket even if the Jackpot would be more
attractive. We’ll continue with the existing
strategy – offering four categories of
instant games with different parameters
(price, percentage payout, prize-structure,
Jackpot and play styles).
