Why such proposal from the IAAF?<br />

To fill the gap between kids’ Athletics and<br />

the official championships<br />

The competition for 13-15 years old is<br />

tailored to the needs and skills of<br />

children at these ages:<br />

- to retain them in<br />

athletics<br />

-Breadth of practice<br />

It will include at least 8 competitions<br />

in a year during a 6-month period<br />

minimum.<br />

TEAM<br />

Competition: team of 6 athletes…and each<br />

athlete can complete 3 events (1 race, 1 jump<br />

or 1 throw) + 1 relay.<br />

Run, Jump, Throw<br />

Every athletes will complete 3 events among<br />

3 different event groups with 1 R,1 J, 1 T<br />

- Sprint<br />

-Hurdles<br />

- Middle distance race, Race walking<br />

-Jumps<br />

Score<br />

Every team will manage to score 3<br />

performances minimum for each event<br />

group<br />

(in case there are more than 3, the 3<br />

best results will be retained).<br />

All performances will be recorded<br />

according to a scoring table<br />

Cross-Country Cross Country Events<br />

Rankings result from the addition of the<br />

points scored by the 6 team members (1°<br />

=1pt, etc.)<br />

Cross-country is carried out on an easy<br />

course<br />

Girls: from 2000 to 2500m maximum<br />

Boys: from 3000 to 3500m maximum<br />

Conditioning Tests<br />

Days for conditioning tests<br />

They are <strong>org</strong>anised as a competition<br />

Performances are recorded according to a<br />

scoring table<br />

Team rankings are achieved in the<br />
