Want to turn heads?
Together,
we can.

Product packaging is an important factor in the home care market, a market that
includes washing liquids, kitchen and bathroom cleaners. The impact of packaging
can make the difference between success and failure of a product. Not only the look
and feel of the labelled package, but also the quality of the label itself is essential
for good shelf appeal. This means that the label needs to be perfectly printed
and applied. Good product packaging promotes sales, makes consumers aware of
product improvements and supports the branding of your product. It’s no secret
that good shelf appearance makes the consumer decide to buy the product. Fasson
can provide you with the best self-adhesive film and paper labelling solutions.
Shelf-appeal
For products to stand out in the home care market, they
need to have eye-catching packaging to stimulate sales.
Self-adhesive technology is an excellent solution for the
production of innovative and attractive labels with high
‘shelf-appeal’. This technology also offers faultless print
and conversion, as well as easy automatic label application.
What is more, although containers are becoming thinner
and larger, self-adhesive technology remains robust and
reliable, able to cope with a wider variety of applications.
To put it briefly, with Fasson self-adhesive labels you
can differentiate from your competition and stand out in
the crowd. It creates the premium looks which help the
consumer buy your product.
The cost-effective solution
As product variety has increased and order sizes have
decreased, there is a greater need for flexibility to keep
labelling as cost-effective as possible. Self-adhesive
labelling has proved itself to be a highly competitive
solution in comparison to the following decoration
technologies.
Inmould versus Self-adhesive
• Inmould label shape changes require different mould
settings or tools, whereas a variety of self-adhesive
labels can be applied with the same labeller without
creating additional costs.
• Inmould labelling is not suitable for achieving the nolabel-look
on clear PET containers which is so popular in
this sector.
Wet Glue paper versus Self-adhesive
• Wet Glue has a higher need of maintenance, for instance
to keep the machines running clean. Wet Glue paper
technology also requires the glue to be mixed daily; in
addition, label cleaning and the glue can be affected by
changes in weather conditions and humidity.
• Wet Glue paper technology is designed for high-speed
labelling of large order sizes. The change towards greater
variety and smaller order sizes makes self-adhesive
labelling more cost-effective.
• Wet Glue labelling is not suitable for achieving the
popular no-label-look.
Wrap Around and sleeving versus Self-adhesive
• 360° labelling (‘shrink sleeving’) requires more material
to be used than is always completely necessary.
• Wrap Around film limits the creation of premium-quality
shelf-appeal with the no-label-look because there is no
bond between the film and the surface of the container.
• Furthermore, dispensing speeds are slower; wrap
around film does not always react well to heat, it is less
economical on long runs, plus it offers poor scratch and
chemical resistance. On the other hand, self-adhesive
labelling allows for far more variety, greater flexibility and
does not require stocks of pre-printed containers.

Our products
Fasson offers several products and services to satisfy your
labelling needs. These are the ideas that help your business
grow in the home care market:
Fasson PE films
Fasson offers a range of co-extruded blown films (such as
Fasson PE85 and Fasson PE100) and cast films (such as
Fasson Polyexact) for excellent register. All are extremely
flexible and ideally suited for application to squeezable
containers. Films include white and clear, corona-treated or
top-coated with a glossy appearance.
Combining these films with Fasson S692N permanent
adhesive gives excellent UV resistance, together with
good adhesion performance even on apolar substrates.
This adhesive has good wet-out performance and provides
excellent high-speed dispensing due to its high tack
properties.
Primax and FasClear
The face material Primax is a specially engineered white
satin finish co-extruded machine-direction-orientated
polyolefin film, plus a printskin. FasClear has the same
characteristics, with the exception of the colour; FasClear is
transparent. Both materials offer the optimal combination
of conversion application and on-pack performance.
Fasson PE100 or Primax with Fasson S277
Fasson S277 is a rubber-based adhesive. By combining
Fasson S277 with face materials Fasson PE100 or Primax,
the challenging requirements of the inline process of
container moulding and labelling are met. During this
process, the freshly moulded container is labelled while
still warm. The label must follow the shrinkage process as
the container cools down, without causing bubbles.
Fasson PE100 with Fasson S4700
PE100 is a corona-treated polyethylene film with a glossy
appearance. The combination of Fasson PE100 film and
Fasson S4700 adhesive is perfect for rough containers.
This clear, permanent adhesive gives excellent initial tack
and adhesion, even on rough and apolar- surfaces such as
HDPE. Plus, it offers good water and chemical resistance,
making it ideal for household chemical applications.
Clear-on-Clear
The no-label-look is a dominant feature on packs in this
market segment. Fasson offers clear-on-clear materials
for PET and glass containers. The construction consists
of PP top-coated material with a PET liner. Fasson S4000
adhesive complements this face material perfectly.
This is a clear permanent adhesive with excellent UV,
water and heat resistance and good tack and adhesion
performance – suitable for the no-label-look. Plus, where
extra conformability is required, Fasson can offer a
purpose-designed solution.
Fasson matt films
The growing trend is towards matt facestocks. Matt PE and
PP films offer benefits in printing as well as giving premium
products eye-catching appeal. In printing, the product
does not require matt overlacquering because the matt
film blends into a matt surface. Premium-quality looks are
achieved due to the visual contrast when placed on a clear
container. Primax and FasClear brand films give unmatched
label blend into the surfaces of semi-matt containers.
Fasson Global Co-Ex: a clear winner
When clarity is important, Fasson Global Co-Ex can deliver
the high quality you require. Suitable for use both on
transparent and coloured packaging, clear labels made
from Global Co-Ex (GCX) blend in to become almost part
of the pack itself. Non-printed areas are barely noticeable,
allowing the brand design to stand out more strongly.
Packs with GCX labels are perceived to be high-quality
products, so this form of labelling also enhance the appeal
of the brand.
Being conformable, GCX can be used on a variety of
different types of semi-rigid and contoured packaging. It is
also thinner than conventional PE’s, so more labels can be
made out of each roll. These features mean that only one
single material – and fewer rolls – need to be kept in stock,
thereby reducing inventory holdings and overall costs.
The versatility of GCX also increases production efficiency,
as operators quickly become familiar with it. GCX is
available worldwide, and offers a print skin that can accept
a wide mix of printing and stamping technologies. The
machine-direction orientation provides optimal press
register in combination with conformability while ensuring
a smooth, bubble-free fit on curved packs.

Fasson Soft Touch
Consisting of two special-purpose films distinguished by
their soft, velvety surface. Soft Touch is ideal for applications
where tactile effect is of paramount importance.
The unique surface structure of these clear PP and PE films
adds an extra reason for consumers to purchase.
Fasson metallised films
This is the latest fashionable choice for packaging. Fasson
metallised PE and PP films help to give products a premium
brand image. The glossy, coated facestocks offer top print
quality with all conventional printing technologies —
letterpress, offset, flexo, screen and hot foil stamping on
wide-web presses with high conversion speeds, and more.
Current applications include high-quality household care
labelling.
Fasson metallised and decorative papers
To further enhance the appeal of your product, there is a
wide range of semi-gloss and gloss paper products, such
as machine-coated and high-gloss cast-coated. Fasson also
offers premium, top-coated, bright metallised papers such
as MP Silver, MP Gold plus laminated foils (gold or silver) in
matt or bright versions. All these materials are available with
either standard Fasson S2000N or Fasson S2045 adhesive.
