Another boost for customers is the 24-hour operation of the slitters in the DC, which has provided next-day delivery for customers within a 250km radius since 2003. Improved lead times from Milton Keynes DC The Distribution Centre in Milton Keynes has recently undergone a change of focus, with the completion of a project designed to improve service in the region. Richard Buckles, Sales Representative, explains: “As part of last year’s Customer Satisfaction Survey we learned that one of the main needs from our customers was an expansion of the Fasson Exact and other service programmes. In the months between June and October 2004 we worked closely with customers in order to find out just what products they needed to meet the demands of their end-users. about our efforts to serve you better More winners announced at Irish Print Awards Just one month after the “First Past the Post” event in Kildare, the printers and label converters in Ireland gathered to discover the winners of the Irish Print Awards. Held in the 5-star Berkeley Court Hotel in Dublin, the event, organised by the Irish Printer Magazine, attracted the country’s leading industry names. The 19 entries for the prestigious self-adhesive label award sponsored by Avery Dennison Ireland, were scrutinised by an independent panel of judges. Scoring was based on a range of considerations, including presentation and label registration, and the degree of difficulty involved in producing the labels. Congratulations to the When Killashee House in Kildare was built in 1861, the owners could never have imagined that it would one day play host to an evening of Irish dancing performed for an audience from the labelling industry. That’s just what happened last October when customers from all over Ireland gathered to celebrate a vibrant evening of entertainment and informative presentations. Sandra Tarr, Country Manager Ireland, takes up the story. “There was a great response from customers – 55 people in all attended the event, which was themed “First Past the Post”. We chose this theme because we wanted to highlight the importance of cooperation throughout the supply chain. There were a number of presentations at the event, summed up perfectly by John Brown, MD of Label Art: “they differed in style and content, but all shared the same underlying theme: we need to be more innovative in both our outlook and our product, working not in isolation but in partnership with our suppliers and customers, in order to winners of this award, who the panel judged to be most worthy in this category. Winner Label Art – for its Cherry Cordial label, based on Fasson PP Top Trans – S4000 – PET30.
