Covered by the yacht hull insurance<br />
Due to its location <strong>Marina</strong> <strong>Santa</strong> <strong>Marta</strong> - about 200 miles west of Aruba – is the perfect<br />
"hurricane hole". It is also a perfect stop for circumnavigators heading San Blas Islands and<br />
Panama Canal.<br />
<strong>Santa</strong> <strong>Marta</strong> is located south of the defined exclusion of insurance latitude. Most yacht hull<br />
insurances do not offer an insurance coverage in the hurricane period from 15 June to<br />
30 November for all yachts staying in the region of 13 ° to 35 ° N and 55 ° to 100 ° East. (Or<br />
they add a significant charge on the premium).<br />

<strong>Euro</strong>peans. It has around 400,000 inhabitants. <strong>Santa</strong> <strong>Marta</strong> not only offers Caribbean life but<br />
also wonderful Hotels, apartments, many beautiful sand beaches, restaurants, shopping<br />
possibilities and a breathtaking nightlife.<br />
Awesome beaches and a fantastic underwater world are right outside the door. The absolute<br />
highlight is the "Tayrona National Park" which contains evidences of a lost Indian culture and<br />
beautiful bays. The National Park starts directly at the city borders. The sensational sandy<br />
beaches with its typical rock formations reminiscent of the Seychelles.<br />

There is also the nearby Sierra Nevada National Park with its snow-capped peaks. It is a<br />
worthwhile destination for nature lovers. The city is formally surrounded by the highest<br />
coastal mountains in the world. The 5775 meter peaks of the Sierra Nevada de <strong>Santa</strong> <strong>Marta</strong><br />
are located only 50 km far away from the coastline.<br />
The city of Cartagena is one of the most beautiful colonial cities in South America and it is<br />
since 1984 an UNESCO World Heritage Site and it is easily reachable by bus or car.<br />
Since the government has been taken over by President Uribe over eight years ago and thanks<br />
to the current successor Santos, Colombia is again a safe country. Anette Kohlhas of <strong>Euro</strong><br />

Global airline network connection<br />
With up to 10 daily flights to and from Bogota, <strong>Santa</strong> <strong>Marta</strong> airport is perfectly connected to<br />
the international flight network: British Airways ex Heathrow, KLM ex Amsterdam, Iberia<br />
and Avianca ex Madrid and with Air France ex Paris CDG. Starting in October 2010<br />
Lufthansa will also fly ex Frankfurt to Bogota (from 799, - € for a return flight).
