Your superintendent received a “Letter to the Administrator” in June which informed districts and
charters of the new student upload process required to access two applications:
Math and Science Item Repository (formally TMSDS, but which will now be referred to as TxAIR
– Texas Achievement Items Repository)
MSTAR Universal Screener for grades 5 – 8
The new process for accessing these online applications will begin with the 2012 – 2013 school year and
will be accessed through the Project Share Gateway.
TxAIR – Texas Achievement Items Repository (formerly known as TMSDS)
TMSDS (now referred to as TxAIR) will be available in October 2012. Due to the migration of the math
and science items repository to Epsilen, any teacher-created tests you want to preserve must be saved
in pdf format to your personal computer by Friday, August 31. Click here
de=normal for a short presentation explaining the procedure. If you have problems accessing CoreK12
using your old login, contact universalscreener@region10.org
for assistance. In late September, we will send a follow-up email with additional information on dates
and the processes for accessing the TxAir Items Repository.
New MSTAR Diagnostic Pilot
The Texas Education Agency is in the process of developing the MSTAR Diagnostic for grades 5-8. After
the screener is administered, and at-risk students identified, the diagnostic will be the next step for RtI
implementation for Algebra Readiness. This tool is scheduled to be available late spring, 2013. TEA has
announced that the MSTAR Diagnostic will be piloted September 10-27, 2012. They are requesting
volunteers to participate in this pilot. If you are interested in participating in the pilot, with the
permission of your administration, please complete the Online Pilot Participation Form.
