The <strong>Career</strong> and Technical Education department of<br />
<strong>Eastern</strong> <strong>Suffolk</strong> <strong>BOCES</strong> will be hosting a Technical<br />
<strong>Career</strong> <strong>Summer</strong> <strong>Exploration</strong> <strong>Program</strong> at our campuses in<br />
Oakdale, Bellport and Riverhead. This program will<br />
provide students with the opportunity to learn more<br />
about a variety of exciting career options. Students must<br />
be entering grades 8-10 in the Fall of 2013 and be 12<br />
years old by July 8, 2013 to be eligible to participate.<br />
Sessions run Monday through Thursday from 8:30 a.m.<br />
to 12:00 p.m., July 8 through July 18, 2013. All student<br />
enrollment will be funded by Perkins IV Title I grant.<br />
Each participant must provide his/her own transportation<br />
to/from the program.<br />

<strong>Career</strong> <strong>Exploration</strong> <strong>Program</strong>?<br />
Students will learn what it takes to be successful in a<br />
technical career, including practical skills and<br />
workplace safety.<br />
Students will experience a hands-on introduction to a<br />
specific career field of their choosing.<br />
Students will engage in activities to improve their selfesteem<br />
and self-awareness.<br />
Students will discover the various types of career-readiness<br />
programs available in the eleventh and twelfth grades.<br />
