Omani contract
Johnson Controls has secured the facility
management contract to manage and maintain
400 Shell filling stations in Oman. In
March 2011 Johnson Controls announced
its partnership with Shell to manage and
maintain 12 000 sites over 27 countries,
the Oman agreement adds to that. “The
Johnson Controls team are looking forward
to delivering services to Shell retail and
commercial sites in Oman. We will provide
improvements in health and safety, security
and environment, and operational excellence
to help Shell deliver the best possible customer
experience in the country,” said Julie Kimble,
Johnson Controls Global Account Leader
for the Shell retail business. “The global
agreement builds on an existing five-year
relationship between the two companies
and is one of the largest single deals in the
fuel retail sector”, confirmed Kimble.

set new standards
Scheidt & Bachmann GmbH has been
certified by the VdS Schadenverhütung
GmbH as the first manufacturer to meet
the new VdS petrol payment terminal audit
requirements. As part of a comprehensive
intrusion test, the new Scheidt & Bachmann
outdoor payment terminal OPT 240 was
tested on its safety and durability. The
result: the new OPT 240 is as safest in
its class. The improved security concept
that was implemented for the first time in
this machine convincingly passed all of
the requirements. Several safety features
like the type of locks used, the locking
mechanism and the robust stainless steel
construction, secure the payment terminal
against intrusion attempts and vandalism.
