Over 220 delegates from all over the world arrived on tuesday afternoon, having lunch prior to hearing the opening conference session, which this year was sponsored by OPw. Oil companies, retailers, distributers, PMC's, mainte nance companies and the vast majority of international equipment suppliers met and mingled at every opportunity. Later that evening the welcome drinks reception, followed by dinner, set the tone for the two days ahead, with a rousing speech from Event organiser Nick Needs, asking for delegates to open up their minds to the many new ideas which will confront them throughout the one to one business sessions. as usual delegates responded in typical erpec fashion, with the oil companies and buyers making as much of their time available as possible to listen to the many supplier presentations. 17
