<strong>Joshua</strong> 12:7-8<br />

And these are the kings of the country which <strong>Joshua</strong> and the children of Israel<br />

smote <strong>on</strong> this side Jordan <strong>on</strong> the west, from Baalgad in the valley of Leban<strong>on</strong> even<br />

unto the mount Halak, that goeth up to Seir; which <strong>Joshua</strong> gave unto the tribes of<br />

Israel for a possessi<strong>on</strong> according to their divisi<strong>on</strong>s;<br />

List of the thirty-<strong>on</strong>e kings of Canaan whom <strong>Joshua</strong> smote <strong>on</strong> the western side of<br />

the Jordan, "from Baal-gad, in the valley of Leban<strong>on</strong>, to the bald mountain that goeth<br />

up towards Seir" (see Josh 11:17). This land <strong>Joshua</strong> gave to the other tribes of Israel.<br />

The king of Jericho, <strong>on</strong>e; the king of Ai, which is beside Bethel, <strong>on</strong>e;<br />

The different kings are given in the order in which they were defeated: Jericho (Josh<br />

6:1); Ai (Josh 7:2);<br />
