Lothlorien
Park View Road | Woldingham | Caterham | CR3 7DH

Lothlorien
A Large and Imposing Family residence with flat over
garage standing on a plot of three quarters of an acre close
to the Village centre
“We have lived in the area or in Woldingham itself for thirty years and always
wanted a house in Park View Road; it’s prestigious, private and softly tree-lined. So
were thrilled when Lothlorien came on the market,” says Mike. “The house is
extremely spacious, perfect for both family life and easy entertaining and its location
is ideal as we can walk into the village in a few minutes whilst the train takes
approximately half an hour into London and the M25 is an easy drive. We enjoy
the perfect blend of a calm rural life style with undemanding commuting.”
“As soon as you step into the large hallway you are aware of the luxurious and
inviting atmosphere,” says Jane. “It is a home that provides a choice of reception
rooms and we love the lounge with its inglenook fireplace which, with a fire blazing
away, is a delightful winter retreat. The conservatory is a superb setting as an extra
dining and relaxing area and is a great place for informal summer meals with the
garden as a charming backdrop. Formal entertaining happens in the dining room
where the table will easily seat twelve and the joy of the house is that it can adapt
to the style required: so the dining room can have an elegant, decorous ambience
or be the scene of a noisy, festive family occasion.”
“I am a serious cook,” says Mike, “and the three ovens in the kitchen allow for
stress-free cooking, whilst for winding-down the music room is perfect. There is
somewhere for every mood, from working in the study to reading in the bay
window on the landing. It would be easy for two people to have their own space
to work from home and the self-contained studio flat provides an adaptable space
over the garage. As a family we use and appreciate the entire house and the garden
is a fantastic summer extension. Set mainly to lawn it slopes gently down the valley
and it is great fun place for the children to have races and garden games. With the
trees bordering the garden there is peaceful country tranquillity and we enjoy the
quiet of an evening glass of wine on the patio.”
“Woldingham is a friendly village with excellent schools, general store with Post
Office and many community activities; Christmas Carols on the green are an annual
treat and for wider shopping, Oxted and Caterham are nearby. We are surrounded
by the glorious scenery of the North Downs and there is an abundance of golf
courses. It is a village that provides a very special life style and we shall miss it and
our superb home.”*
