Nevila Xhindi , Ph.D.<br />

Dr. Xhindi has actively participated in the public sphere in Albania through lecturing, research and publications<br />
in the academic sphere as well as project development in various social areas. Dr. Xhindi holds a PhD Degree in<br />
Human Geography from the University of Tirana and has successfully completed a second PhD Degree in<br />
Regional Development and Planning at the University of Potsdam, Germany. Dr. Xhindi was awarded a<br />
Fulbright/Humphrey scholarship to pursue her postgraduate studies at the State University of Pennsylvania in<br />
the United States in the programme: Education Policy and Comparative Studies. Dr. Xhindi is a member of the<br />
European Cooperation in Science and Technology (COST) and the European Experts for the Bologna Process<br />
(HERE). Since 2009 she holds the positon of Depute Rector for Partnership, Research and Business<br />
Development at the European University of Tirana.<br />
Prof. Dr. Adrian Civici<br />

Prof. Dr. Adrian Civici is a distinguished scholar, economist and expert in Albania in the field of EU economic<br />
integration, sustainable regional development and transitory economies in South East Europe, agriculture<br />
policies and rural development. He has published several scientific articles on the same areas of research and<br />
actively participates in the public debate in Albania on EU integration processes. Currently Prof. Dr. A. Civici is<br />
the President at UET and is involved in lecturing and research. He is a member of the Supervisory Board of the<br />
Bank of Albania.<br />
Odeta Barbullushi, PhD<br />

Ms Barbullushi has obtained her PhD degree from the Centre for Russian and East European Studies, University<br />
of Birmingham, UK, in the field of foreign and security policy of post-communist Albania. Her research interests<br />
include: Foreign Policy analysis; Poststructuralist approaches in International Relations; EU Foreign Policy;<br />
Nationalism and non-nationalist ideologies in the Balkans in the inter-war period, Social Research Methods in<br />
Eastern Europe. Ms Barbullushi has taught several courses on European politics and foreign policy, among<br />
which ‘Political History of Central and Eastern Europe in the XXth century’ (BA) at the European Research<br />
Institute (University of Birmingham), ‘EU in a Globalized World’ (MA) at the European Research Institute,<br />
University of Birmingham, Foreign Policy Analysis (MA) at the European University of Tirana. She is a regular<br />
contributor to public debates on the EU and European politics and foreign policy.
Erjona Canaj, PhD<br />

Ms Canaj holds a PhD Degree in International and European Union Law from the University of “La Sapienza”,<br />
Rome, Italy. Ms Canaj holds a Bachelor Degree in Law and a Master Degree in Family Law – Children Defense in<br />
Civil and Criminal Procedures from the same university. She has extensive experience as a lecturer at the<br />
University of ‘Ismail Qemali’, Vlora, and the European University of Tirana. She has been actively engaged in<br />
project development in the area of European Union law, family law and refugee law as well as in research at<br />
the national and regional level, including working as a trainer on her areas of expertise in Albania and Kosovo.<br />
Ms Canaj has published several articles and co-authored academic books in the areas of international law,<br />
family law, refugee law.<br />
Ketrina Çabiri, MA<br />

Ms Çabiri has completed her graduate studies in Political Science, University of Tirana and holds a Master of<br />
Arts degree from the University of Sussex in the United Kingdom in the area of European Politics. Ms Çabiri has<br />
published several articles/papers in national and international academic arena focusing principally on<br />
governance, constitutionalism and institutions, education, social affairs, EU integration etc. Ms Çabiri has<br />
worked for the Agency for Research, Technology and Innovation, Council of Ministers as an Expert in<br />
International Research Programmes. Ms Çabiri has been involved in the development of EU Projects such as<br />
(Tempus, IPA, LLP) and has been working in cooperation with national and international donors like Lifelong<br />
Learning Programme (<strong>Jean</strong> <strong>Monnet</strong>; Tempus); World Bank and British Council in Albania; Open Society<br />
Foundation, Friedrich Ebert Stiftung, OSCE, One-UN, UNWOMEN in Albania, etc.<br />
Blerjana Bino, PhD Candidate<br />

With an academic background in politics, good governance, political representation and communication (BA in<br />
Political Science, University of Tirana), Ms Bino holds a Master of Science Degree in Politics and Communication<br />
from London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE, UK). Ms Bino has experience in lecturing and<br />
student advising for the following modules: Academic Writing, Study Skills, Research Methods, EU Programmes<br />
on Education, Research and Civil Society. She has been actively involved in the development and<br />
implementation of research and capacity-building projects in the areas of education and social inclusion, social<br />
policy, good governance and human rights, media and democratization in the framework of various project<br />
schemes such as European Commission programmes: <strong>Jean</strong> <strong>Monnet</strong>, Tempus, Cost, EuropeAid; United Nations<br />
programmes; Open Society Foundation for Albania; Regional Research Promotion Programme; Austrain<br />
Development Cooperation, etc.
