5.7 Checking Voltage to Glow Plugs (<strong>Lombardini</strong> 1003 engines)<br />

To check the voltage to the glow plugs, carry out the following<br />

procedure:<br />

5.7.1 Disconnect the B (black) wire (a), place the keyswitch in the START<br />

position, and measure the voltage between the black wire and ground.<br />

There should be 12V (battery voltage approximately 12) measured.<br />

If 12V is measured, check the function of the glow plug.<br />

If 12V is not measured, continue.<br />

5.7.2 Disconnect the B (black) wire (b) and measure the voltage between it<br />

and ground. There should be 12V (battery voltage approximately 12)<br />

measured.<br />

If 12V is measured, clean the connection points of the wires.<br />

Reconnect the wires and check the function of the glow plug.<br />

If 12V is not measured, check the glow plug relay.<br />
