International Minor in Mathematics at DTU 2011-2012
This exchange minor is set up in agreement with the mathematics department of the DTU (Danmarks
Tekniske Universitet / Technical University Denmark) at Lyngby in Denmark. Students should be aware
that they are themselves responsible for making all the proper arrangements for a study period abroad.

Application forms should be received by the DTU before 15 May.
1. Learning objectives
By following the international minor mathematics students can deepen their knowledge of several
mathematical disciplines. The program offers a number of courses which are complementary to the TU/e
bachelor program Technische Wiskunde and master program Industrial and Applied Mathematics.
2. Structure of the minor
You can choose a program of at least 30 ects from the following list. One course can be chosen in each
schedule period. The common thing to do at this university is to follow 25 ects of courses in the period
September to December and one course of 5 ects in a three week period in January. Full information about

3. Language, semester
This minor can only be followed in the first (autumn) semester.
The language of the courses is English. If there are only a few English speaking students in a course, special
arrangements can be made.
4. Requirements for enrollment
For several courses in the program prerequisite knowledge of second year courses of the program
Technische Wiskunde at the TU/e is required. The student should study the course information with
respect to this point, to see whether he has sufficient prerequisite knowledge. In the column “prerequisites
TU/e” an indication is given of which courses of the BTW program contain prerequisite knowledge.
5. Requirements for the students
Students should have fulfilled all requirements for the P-exam Technische Wiskunde at the TU/e.
