The families that grow the coffee are composed of rural, indigenous, and<br />
afro-descendant communities. The grower families work hard to create<br />
environmentally and socially sustainable alternatives for growing coffee—<br />
more than 10,000 trees have been planted and water treatment systems have<br />
been created. On average, a farmer has 1-1.5 hectares of land to produce<br />
coffee. The coffee is shade grown in a humid area of <strong>Colombia</strong>. <strong>San</strong> Agustin<br />
receives lots of rain during the year, and is an area of rich biodiversity.<br />
