of his salons in Spain for several years, he began<br />

intensive salon colour scenarios with ease. All About<br />

Colour unlocks colour formulations, grey coverage<br />

guidelines, mixation and recipes for perfect<br />

knowledge lab where they will learn the art of<br />

concise colour consultations, the Lakmé colour<br />

portfolio, international technical standards,<br />

colour interpretation and accurate diagnosis<br />

Session and Practical Workshop where knowledge<br />

gained will be demonstrated and perfected in an<br />

Melanie Fahey-Nielsen brings a wealth of<br />

international and local experience to the Lakmé<br />

brand. With strong foundations in hairdressing<br />

from her formative years in the industry, Melanie<br />

has also held prestigious education positions<br />

with leading brands internationally.<br />

Her inspirational education programs and colouring<br />

expertise is testament to her passion for colour; a<br />

dedication that she now shares with Lakmé clients<br />

Seasoned Lakmé colourists will explore the<br />

colouring world of balancing, refreshing, creative<br />

colour palette toning and swatch tutorials. The<br />

colourist will gain intensive insight to Lakmé<br />

methodology of correctional colouring, trouble<br />

shooting, colour concierge and prescriptive<br />

maintenance.<br />

The Advanced Colourist will have the opportunity<br />

to demonstrate blonding formulas, understand the<br />

Lakmé colour removal system and our systematic<br />

approach to darkening or lightening even the most<br />

challenging hair types.<br />

This interactive and kinetic colouring seminar takes<br />

colourists with a passion for blondes and beyond<br />

on a colour journey that exposes even the most<br />

seasoned of colourists to the many different levels<br />

and approaches to blonding within the salon.<br />

Gone are the days of basic blonding applications,<br />

Beyond Blonde teaches how to create perfect<br />

colour harmonising with all levels of blonde hair.<br />

Lakmé has a systematic approach to the way<br />

we utilise our k.blonde blonding systems, from<br />

conventional methodology to unconventional<br />

pastelisation, glazing and overlays. Beyond Blonde<br />

teaches the colourist the art of Dimensional Design<br />

through multi-faceted colour display without the<br />

use of foil or meché techniques.<br />

Dani Blakeley is Creative Director for the professional<br />

hair care brand Lakmé. Dani has been nominated<br />

for, and is the winner of numerous awards for<br />

cutting, colouring and catwalk work including<br />

the AHFA in 2010.<br />

After moving home to Melbourne and meeting<br />

her husband and business partner, David and<br />

Dani opened the renowned salon, Yoshiko Hair in<br />

Melbourne’s cultural hub of St Kilda. It is here that<br />

they lead their team of highly skilled professionals,<br />

exhibiting the same enthusiastic passion that<br />

inspired Dani‘s career 15 years ago.<br />

Have you ever wanted to be the technical point<br />

person within your salon? This advanced training<br />

program is for a seasoned Lakmé salon colourist.<br />

Over the course of 3 months the Lakmé team will<br />

provide the selected salon ambassador with in depth<br />

Lakmé Hair Science and Colour Theory.<br />

As an Ambassador, you will be taken on an<br />

architectural tour of the Lakmé colour history,<br />

branding and portfolio and trained as our<br />

technicans are trained internationally with Lakmé.<br />

The participant will be trained in colour collective<br />

mood boards, fashion trends, brand perspective<br />

and how to recreate your own seasonal collection<br />

through the art of colour and cutting techniques.<br />

Upon completion of Master Colour Artistry, each<br />

individual will be an Ambassador of the Lakmé<br />

brand and given the opportunity to showcase<br />

keVin hughes<br />

educator<br />

Kevin Hughes has been a hair stylist and colour<br />

specialist for over 20 years. A Long Island native and<br />

one of 12 children growing up, he trained in colour at<br />

the prestigious Louis Licari Salon in New York City<br />

and attended extensive hands-on classes in cutting,<br />

colouring and styling for television and film. He later<br />

opened his own salon and managed the business<br />

for more than eight years.<br />

In 2011, Kevin joined the Moroccanoil Global<br />

<strong>Education</strong> Team, bringing in a wealth of knowledge<br />

with enormous creativity and travelling the globe<br />

to share the latest Moroccanoil product news and<br />

brand strategies.<br />

Backstage at Fashion Week, Kevin has worked with<br />

Violet sainsbury<br />

Violet Sainsbury started her hairdressing career<br />

in 1999 in Cairns, later joining the Schwarzkopf<br />

Young Artistic Team as a session stylist where she<br />

discovered platform artistry. In 2004 Violet moved to<br />

Brisbane to focus on becoming a platform educator<br />

and won the L’Oréal Colour Trophy.<br />

After attending a Toni&Guy show in her home town,<br />

Violet set her sights on the brand which lead to her<br />

becoming an Educator in the Queensland Academy<br />

and then an Art Director. In 2007 she earned a<br />

coveted place on the Australian F.A.M.E. Team and<br />

embarked on a national and international education<br />

tour before relocating to London to work at the<br />

brand’s flagship Regent Street salon.<br />

When booking any Haircare Australia course/event<br />

a 50% deposit must be paid up front to secure your<br />

place in the course/event. The 50% balance owing<br />

for the course/event is required to be paid prior to<br />

that you have booked will be sent to you when your<br />

NO REFUNDS will be given upon course payment.<br />

ILLNESS – In the event of a student being too ill to<br />

attend a course/event, no refund will be provided.<br />

TRANSFER OF COURSE – Where a cancellation<br />

occurs without acceptable notice, the <strong>Education</strong><br />

Co-ordinator will endeavour to transfer the student(s)<br />

to the next available course date (if possible).<br />

Please note Haircare Australia does not guarantee<br />

or warrant in any way whatsoever that the same<br />

course will be offered or that a student placement<br />

Haircare Australia reserves the right to postpone or<br />

cancel any course that doesn’t reach the required<br />

number of participants. In such case, Haircare<br />

Australia will give booked participants notice of the<br />

change and refund applicable course fees paid.<br />

Haircare Australia does not supply mannequin heads<br />

and/or models for any courses unless expressly<br />

stated in the <strong>Prestige</strong> <strong>Education</strong> Guide specifically<br />
