Commissioning<br />
•= the carbon brushes in the brush boxes and the brush levers move easily and<br />
the spring action on all carbon brushes is even.<br />
•= brakes (if fitted) function perfectly.<br />
Before the <strong>motor</strong> is commissioned, the power converter must be commissioned in<br />
accordance with its operating instructions. The <strong>motor</strong> parameters must be taken<br />
into account.<br />
The work that has been carried out must be recorded in the relevant checklist.<br />
Notice<br />
After a lengthy period of storage or downtime (>2 years), the bearings should be<br />
relubricated or the grease replaced.<br />
Note<br />
In the case of <strong>motor</strong>s with an air-to-water heat exchanger, perform the test run<br />
without water cooling if there is expected to be a lengthy period between<br />
installation and the actual start of operation.<br />

4.3 Checking the insulation resistance<br />

Note<br />
Take note of the operating instructions for the insulation resistance meter used.<br />
Warning<br />
During the measurement, and immediately afterwards, some of the terminals are at<br />
hazardous voltage levels and must not be touched.<br />
If the supply feeder cables are connected, ensure that the line supply voltage<br />
cannot be connected.<br />
