Lt. Col. Fridmann<br />

Awarded<br />

On November 2, 2007, Lt. Col. Gerard Fridmann<br />

received the Bronze Star Medal and the Defense<br />

Meritorio<strong>us</strong> Service Medal for his service during<br />

Operation Iraqi Freedom. Fridmann recently<br />

returned to Massach<strong>us</strong>etts after serving for 32<br />

months in Iraq during three consecutive combat<br />

tours with the Defense Intelligence Agency.<br />

Fridmann initially performed as the transition officer<br />

of Defense Intelligence Agency Iraq Survey Group,<br />

the organization that searched for evidence of<br />

Saddam H<strong>us</strong>sein's weapons of mass destru<strong>ct</strong>ion<br />

and former regime crimes. He was then appointed<br />

deputy chief of DIA's Defense Intelligence Support<br />

Office-Iraq helping oversee all DIA personnel and<br />

assets and ensuring uninterrupted mission support<br />

at numero<strong>us</strong> sites throughout the Operation Iraqi<br />

Freedom and CENTCOM combat zone areas.<br />

Fridmann is a <strong>standard</strong>ization instru<strong>ct</strong>or pilot and<br />

instrument flight examiner with more than 3,000<br />

hours in Army helicopters. He is currently assigned<br />

to special proje<strong>ct</strong>s at Joint Force Headquarters,<br />

Massach<strong>us</strong>etts National Guard.<br />
