Dear Coalition,
President’s Letter
The success of Safe Kids is defined by a child safely reaching adulthood. That
success is only possible because of the important work we do together. My major role
as president of the Board is to help oversee the development of the 3-Year Strategic
Plan, Annual Action Plans, and help oversee the community assessment & evaluation
methods.
It is my pleasure to present our 2009 Annual Report which highlights the
accomplishments of the goals we set forth in our Strategic Plan. Every three years, we
assess our community’s long term needs and each year implement actions to meet
them. 2010 marks the end of our 2007-2010 Strategic Plan. We sincerely thank you
for your support and look forward to working with you during our upcoming journey.
In 2009, Sudden Infant Death Syndrome and Falls became more of a concern.
Safe Kids worked to raise awareness about these injury areas and will continue in our
upcoming endeavors.
It is the most awesome gift to hear a parent thank us by saying, ―If it wasn’t for your
commercial, I would not have known my child was in danger,‖ or ―It’s been a tough
financial year for my family, without Safe Kids, we would not have helmets for our
children.‖
We are extremely blessed with such a wonderful group of enthusiastic volunteers,
dedicated members, and generous partners and donors. Thank you for saving lives in
2009. We look forward to continuing the success of a strong community network as we
serve families and children together.
