Intramural Sports Rules<br />
do not carry over. Any player on the court may call a timeout, but it must be during a dead ball<br />
or when it is in control <strong>of</strong> a player on the team requesting a timeout.<br />
SUBSTITUTIONS<br />
Substitutions may be made when the ball is dead. A time out is not necessary. You must notify<br />
the scorekeeper before making the substitution, and wait for the court <strong>of</strong>ficial to wave you in.<br />
<strong>The</strong>re is an unlimited number <strong>of</strong> substitutions per game.<br />
END OF GAME<br />
At the end <strong>of</strong> the game, the team with the most points win. If the score is tied, teams will play a<br />
3-minute overtime. <strong>The</strong>re will be a jump ball to begin the overtime period; the teams will not<br />
change baskets. If at the end <strong>of</strong> the overtime the score is still tied, each team will send five<br />
men/women to the free throw line to shoot one free throw each. <strong>The</strong> most free throws scored by<br />
one team will win the game.<br />
GAME FORFEIT<br />
All games will start at the designated times. Game time is forfeit time. NO EXCEPTIONS. <strong>The</strong><br />
fieldhouse clock will be the <strong>of</strong>ficial clock used to determine time.<br />
Co-Rec Basketball Rules<br />
Players: a minimum number <strong>of</strong> 2 men and 2 women per team<br />
<strong>The</strong> Ball: a wo<strong>men's</strong> <strong>basketball</strong> will be used<br />
Scoring: women earn 1 bonus point more for each field goal scored (3 points for regular basket<br />
and 4 points for a 3-pointer)<br />
Free Throws: women will shoot a bonus free throw for a foul on a field goal attempt (3 free<br />
throws for a regular field goal and 4 for a 3-point field goal attempt)<br />
