When Macrovision's Installshield 11.5 Runtime is present on the machine that is used to install the BusinessObjects Enterprise
XI Release 2 Critical Hotfix (CHF), the CHF installer terminates unexpectedly.
This problem is caused by the third-party Installshield component iKernel.dll, version 11.50.0.42618, which is stored in the
following directory: \Program Files\Common Files\InstallShield\Professional\RunTime\11\50\Intel32\.
The CHF installs successfully when an older version of the component is used.
New Behavior:
This problem is resolved.
To solve the problem, as of CHF17, the installer uses Macrovision's Installshield 11.0 Runtime instead of searching and using a
newer version found on the machine that is used to install the CHF.
