sampling unit. April (replicate 1) produced a significant spatial structure function<br />

(Figure 7.5(i)) suggesting a patch size of 6-9cm although its dispersion indices<br />

suggested a random distribution (Table 7.1). The correlograms suggest that when<br />

there was a significant spatial structure in the adult P. elegans population, the patch<br />

size was usually between 3-12cm (April (1); May (3); July (2 and 3) and October (3)),<br />

although these were not evident from their density plots.<br />
