Preparation of Naphthalene Standard Solution The standard solution of naphthalene was prepared by weighting 0.2 g of naphthalene dissolved in 100 ml acetronitrile in a volumetric flask. This was the concentration of 2000 µg/ml of naphthalene solution. This stock solution was diluted into the desired concentrations with acetonitrile using the formula, N1 = concentration in stock solution V1 = volume in stock solution N2 = concentration in diluted solution V2 = volume in diluted solution N1V1 = N2V2, By using the formula, the standard solution series of naphthalene concentrations were derived as below, 156 - Naphthalene concentration was 200 µg/ml used acetonitrile 90 ml with the 2000 µg/ml stock solution 10 ml. - Naphthalene concentration was 20 µg/ml used acetonitrile 90 ml with the 200 µg/ml stock solution 10 ml. - Naphthalene concentration was 2.0 µg/ml used acetonitrile 90 ml with the 20 µg/ml stock solution 10 ml. - Naphthalene concentration was 0.2 µg/ml used acetonitrile 90 ml with the 2.0 µg/ml stock solution 10 ml. - Naphthalene concentration was 0.02 µg/ml used acetonitrile 90 ml with the 0.2 µg/ml stock solution 10 ml.
