Description <strong>Storage</strong> that has a capacity over 2TB and is fault-tolerant.<br />

5 Click OK.<br />

The storage capability appears in the list and is specified as User-Defined in the Type column.<br />

What to do next<br />

Assign the user-defined storage capabilities to datastores that have that capability.<br />

Edit the Description of a User-Defined <strong>Storage</strong> Capability<br />

You can edit a user-defined storage capability to make its description illustrate the quality of service that the<br />

storage capability guarantees.<br />

You cannot edit system-defined storage capabilities.<br />

Procedure<br />

1 In the VM <strong>Storage</strong> Profiles view of the <strong>vSphere</strong> Client, click Manage <strong>Storage</strong> Capabilities.<br />

The Manage <strong>Storage</strong> Capabilities dialog box appears.<br />

2 In the Manage <strong>Storage</strong> Capabilities dialog box, select a user-defined storage capability and click Edit.<br />

3 Provide a more detailed description of the storage capability and click OK.<br />

You cannot change the name of a user-defined storage capability.<br />

The new description appears in the Description column of the Manage <strong>Storage</strong> Capabilities dialog box.<br />

3 On the Manage <strong>Storage</strong> Capabilities page, select a user-defined storage capability and click the edit icon.<br />

4 Provide a more detailed description of the storage capability and click OK.<br />

The new description appears in the Description column of the Manage <strong>Storage</strong> Capabilities page.<br />
