<strong>vSphere</strong> <strong>Storage</strong><br />

For each path you can also display the path's name. The name includes parameters that describe the path:<br />

adapter ID, target ID, and device ID. Usually, the path's name has the format similar to the following:<br />

fc.adapterID-fc.targetID-naa.deviceID<br />

NOTE When you use the host profiles editor to edit paths, you must specify all three parameters that describe<br />

a path, adapter ID, target ID, and device ID.<br />

View Datastore Paths in the <strong>vSphere</strong> Client<br />

Use the <strong>vSphere</strong> Client to review the paths that connect to storage devices the datastores are deployed on.<br />

Procedure<br />

1 Log in to the <strong>vSphere</strong> Client and select a host from the inventory panel.<br />

2 Click the Configuration tab and click <strong>Storage</strong> in the Hardware panel.<br />

3 Click Datastores under View.<br />

4 From the list of configured datastores, select the datastore whose paths you want to view, and click<br />

Properties.<br />

5 Under Extents, select the storage device whose paths you want to view and click Manage Paths.<br />

6 In the Paths panel, select the path to view.<br />

The panel underneath displays the path's name. The name includes parameters describing the path:<br />

adapter ID, target ID, and device ID.<br />

7 (Optional) To extract the path's parameters, right-click the path and select Copy path to clipboard.<br />

View Datastore Paths in the <strong>vSphere</strong> Web Client<br />

Review the paths that connect to storage devices backing your datastores.<br />

Prerequisites<br />

Browse to Datastores in the <strong>vSphere</strong> Web Client navigator. See “Display Datastore Information in the <strong>vSphere</strong><br />

Web Client,” on page 23.<br />

Procedure<br />

1 Select the datastore.<br />

2 Click the Manage tab, and click Settings.<br />

3 Click Connectivity and Multipathing.<br />

4 If the datastore is shared, select a host to view multipathing details for its devices.<br />

5 Under Multipathing Details, review the multipathing policies and paths for the storage device that backs<br />

your datastore.<br />

View <strong>Storage</strong> Device Paths in the <strong>vSphere</strong> Client<br />

Use the <strong>vSphere</strong> Client to view which SATP and PSP the host uses for a specific storage device and the status<br />

of all available paths for this storage device.<br />

Procedure<br />

1 Log in to the <strong>vSphere</strong> Client and select a server from the inventory panel.<br />

2 Click the Configuration tab and click <strong>Storage</strong> in the Hardware panel.<br />
