B
bank descriptor index (BDI)
An index into the bank descriptor table (a data structure defined by the Exec). Practically,
BDIs are the equivalent of symbolic bank names. Program BDIs are assigned by the
Collector, whereas configured common bank BDIs are managed by the Exec, COMUS,
and the systems analyst, or
C
An integer value used as a relative index into a bank descriptor table (BDT). The BDI
points to a bank descriptor (BD) in the BDT that defines storage allocation for a program
segment, or
An unsigned integer in the range of zero to n-1, where n is the maximum number of
bank descriptors allowed in a given bank descriptor table. The integer is used to locate a
bank descriptor in the bank descriptor table. The first bank descriptor has an index of
zero and the nth bank descriptor has an index of n-1. The bank descriptor index is the
low order 16 bits of L,BDI and the low order 12 bits of E,LS,BDI.
Collector
A system processor (called using @MAP) that joins relocatable elements into an absolute
element.
D
DAD
E
ECL
Abbreviation for device area descriptor.
Abbreviation for Executive control language.
Element (ELT) processor
Processor used to introduce a new element into a program file or to correct the content
of a symbolic element in a program file from a runstream.
