Appendix B
Diagnostic Messages
This appendix contains processor interface routine messages and SIR$ line-change
diagnostics.
B.1. Processor Interface Routine Messages
In the following messages, x may be either si, ro, or so, corresponding to the parameters
on the processor call statement.
The following messages are produced by the Processor Interface Routines:
ABNORMAL RETURN FROM READ$
A program which expects to be called as a processor has been called with @XQT.
x BADLY CODED FIELD
Fill from previous parameter was requested, and the filled parameter is illegal or
ambiguous.
x CYCLE SPECIFICATION IGNORED
ro and so cycle specification is meaningless and is ignored. Does not cause error
return.
x FILE CANNOT BE READ
Input file is in read-inhibited mode due to absence of read-key, write-only mode is
set for file, or Y option is used on the file assignment.
x FILE ERROR WAS REPORTED BY ER z - STATUS IN A2 = n
Error status was received when acquiring file information using an OS 2200 program
file package (PFP) request. z is the mnemonic of the ER and n is the PFP status
code. See the Exec ER Programming Reference Manual.
x FILE IS TAPE
ro and so may not specify tape files.
