SIR$–Symbolic Input/Output Routine Word 0 S1 S2 S3 S6 050 is the SDF label identifying this as an SDF element. indicates that a 1-word image follows. the Fieldata character 'S' identifies this as an SIR$-created file or element. indicates the CCS of the data records that follow (see Appendix H). If SIR$ writes a source output element, the element is identified as a Fieldata element if the label control record CCS is zero; otherwise, it is identified as an ASCII element. SIR$ Line-Change Control Record When SIR$ applies runstream corrections to the source input, SIR$ line-change control records are written to the source output and passed to the calling program. Note that these are control records that SIR$ writes to the source output; if SIR$ line-change control records are read in the source input, they are discarded by SIR$. SIR$ produces two types of SIR$ line-change control records, both of which may be present in source output produced by SIR$. The first type contains the actual text of the runstream line change statement or partial line change statement. It is used primarily by processors when producing comprehensive 'V' option listings of source input line numbers and runstream corrections. Word 0 S1 S2 H2 052 indicates that this is an SIR$ line-change control record. SIR$–Symbolic Input/Output Routine n specifies the length of the line change statement or partial line change statement in words 1 through n. Zero. When this control record is written to the source output and passed to the calling program, the CCS of the line change statement image is processed identically to a runstream data image of the same CCS. The SIR$ line-change control record for a -n line change statement is written to the source output immediately after source input line n. The SIR$ line-change control record for a -n,m line-change statement or for a -n- or -n,m- partial line change statement is written to the source output immediately after source input line n-1. The second type of SIR$ line-change control record is used internally by SIR$ and is not directly passed to the calling program. This control record is written by SIR$ whenever source input images are deleted by runstream corrections. The record contains a count of the number of source input images deleted immediately before the source input image that follows this control record. On the second and subsequent passes, SIR$ uses this control record to calculate source input line number and source input image deletion information that is returned to the calling program.
